- The field of view slider: That looks like a bug and I will have a look at it in a few hours. I think somebody in PB50 or PB48 were using it successfully, so this must have been done recently.
- Native America: Sorry about that, I will write something in the general thread
- Serfdom: This works as intend according to the 4.1.1.6 changelog
The slider worked for me in the last game. I must have mis-read the change log about Serfdom ... I read it as unlimited scientists and that was it. I thought - interesting change.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I got my farming tech ... but lost access to fishing .
Anyway ... moved Tracker again ... and found some food. Also, this map will be challenging for city placements. Fired up the BUG dot mapper (Alt-X to edit, Ctrl-X to see) and generated these options
I am unsure about red or white dot. Red is coastal ... while white is not. Coastal is good and bad ... can be attacked off a boat. I will have to see if my Fort, White dot, Fort indications actually allow a boat to sail through. If not, it will probably be red dot first.
Another big decision coming in Turn 4 ... Tracker further W or South to map out that land?

I guess this answers that question ...

I tested the field of view slider with this mod and it worked for me.

Thanks for testing. Maybe it didn't work for me in the prior pitboss game.
Ahhh ... I have hard coded my field of view value in the 'CivilizationIV.ini' file. If I set it to zero, then the slider works.
Guess I am going to have to set up a specific pitboss49 ini file.
Code: ; A non-zero value overrides the FIELD_OF_VIEW parameter from GlobalDefines.xml
FIELD_OF_VIEW = 62

But that was the intended and desired outcome, right? (Had you wanted to end up with Agri + Hunting + Fishing after [minimum research time] you could have just kept your starting techs and gone for Hunting since all starting techs should have the same research cost in this mod. Or if you wanted to have the right starting techs on principle and not delay the game and end up with Agri + Hunt + Fish as your first three techs, you could have ended your first couple turns with no tech selected, which would keep the beakers banked for whichever tech you finally select by turn 4....)

And what is wrong with asking for a free handout?
As Prez Trump would say ... I was joking.

I moved my tracker south to see what land was near my capital ... found some more food. And moved white dot.
Re the field of view bug ... I created a pb49 ini file, set the field of view value to 0 and changed the mod to load to this mod. Had to change my short cut from loading a mod to loading an ini file.
Target was ......"C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod="RtR_BugBeta_0.10"
target is now...."C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" ini=C:\Civ4ini\CivilizationIV-RB49.ini
Had to put the ini file in its own little directory. I think the no spaces means it will work.

If I remember correctly you could also put the file into the installation folder of Civ4:BTS.
This is a little bit counter intuitive because the normal INI file is located in 'My Dokuments\My Games\Beyond the Sword'.
