Heh, whip should be banned :P It's a serious C&D pain in the behind
![]() After some false starts, I finally chewed through population data which will make techs and land somewhat easier later on - Nakor - 3 cities ; sizes 5, 4, 1 Tredje - 4 cities ; sizes 6, 2, 2, 1 GE - 3 cities ( that includes the one you lost ) ; sizes 5, 4, 1 Kyan - 4 cities ; sizes 5, 5, 2, 1 Malakai - 3 cities ; sizes 5, 3, 1 Nakor has been whipping steadily through the game, GE and Malakai didn't use the whip a lot, Kyan and Tredje started whipping like crazy over last few turns. I've added a separate sheet to your googledocs ( named imaginatively 'Pop' ) with all the data dug out so far. If you can get your hands on some graphs please do so, they'll help a lot with chewing through military and techs.
Hi Whosit,
I don't have anything useful to say, only wanted to let you know that here's another lurker who appreciates your reports and all the screenshots. ![]() If you manage to get yourself back into the game and more or less knock out GE, it will be interesting to see if the other teams think you broke a NAP there or not. You might consider starting to do some diplomacy to paint the right picture early enough. ![]() Good luck!

Mist Wrote:If you can get your hands on some graphs please do so, they'll help a lot with chewing through military and techs. There's this that Gaspar gave me. I think it's from Turn 46? I can start posting graphs (I should get vision on GE's stuff myself in a few turns). Anything besides power? ![]() @Kylearan: Yeah, I was thinking about that. Gaspar/Nakor are probably on the same page, and right now I only have contact with Malakai. I plan on waiting a little bit before I start spreading the news, just in case there's a leak. Oh, yeah, once I have Copper and Construction, Eve/Ning will be alternating Axemen and Catapults, at roughly 1 or 2 turns apiece (partially depending on how long the forests last). How many Catapults do I need? 4? 5? 6? I guess I can't know. My track record is pretty bad on the offense. Still, if I had 4/4 Axemen and Catapults, and combined that with whatever remains of my Chariot army plus some Holkans, I should have a pretty decent force to harass GE with, methinks. It'd be nice if I could spare enough units to circle his territory to try and spot new cities, but that might be too hard to manage.
Oh, look at this:
Quote:Sanibona Whovus He gave me this, too. ![]() Which was nice of him since I wouldn't have been able to see the second Axeman. I'm not going to bother thanking him, or bother telling him that, with all these trees, how could I have known his borders were there before I moved? Still, it's too early to make trouble, so I'll withdraw, for now. I got the information I wanted: ETA of the Axemen. First one can reach Lake in 7 turns, second in 8. Possible they'll stop to capture/raze the Barb city, since there are only Warriors there. That'd make me sad, since I was hoping to get a shot at it, but clearly it's way closer to him. I think I'll have to have Clubs Deuce dance around the area a bit... then sadly sacrifice him around T57 to get a look into my Lake city to see what the Garrison is. If I don't have to send my arm in blind, that'd be good. Whosit Wrote:There's this that Gaspar gave me. I think it's from Turn 46? But, there are other people reading, and please fill us in with useful screenshots.
I, too, am watching with great interest. And you're writing great reports, as well, so this is the thread I check first when I come to PBEM12.
But, of course, I can't say much as a lurker, and it doesn't usually seem worth posting just to say hi. Mardoc Wrote:But, of course, I can't say much as a lurker, and it doesn't usually seem worth posting just to say hi. It is always worth posting to say "hi." ![]() Also, I wrote this to the Nakor/Gaspar/Gaspar/Nakor team: Quote:Co-trainers Nakor and Gaspar, And then I let them know about the Axemen 'cuz I forgot in the first message. It'd be lovely if 2-turn days kept happening. Keep happening. Otherwise, it'll be over a week before I take my revenge. Or fail. One or the other. I'm sure the turn will arrive at a later point in the timeline. So it's already happened. In the future.
This is my theme song at the moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILObfEzX92k See, it's like, I was just gonna be all peaceful and neighborly and stuff until someone flipped the psychopath switch. So, yeah. It's horribly symbolic.Lesse. Gaspar/Nakor came through: ![]() ![]() Didn't ask for Culture since I thought it was the least important of the three, and I felt like I was asking for enough. GE has gotten 4000 more soldier points, which is most likely a Spearman. I don't think he has access to Horses based on the intel I received from Gaspar and Malakai (his second core city is between Ivory and Copper). I need to ask Gaspar if he can clarify its exact position--I have a theory based on how close the two Axemen were. Spearman also makes more sense since it gets the Aggressive bonus. This is pretty bad for me since one Spearman would pretty much totally ruin my attack. The question is: Which city did it pop from? I don't think I have a way to tell. Let's see... it was Turn 48 when it popped (for purposes of moving), and it can probably reach the Lake city in 9 turns.... so it could beat me there. That's not good news, at all. I'm going to have to inform my hopeful allies of this. If it could get 'em moving any earlier, that'd be nice for me. Ah, yeah, saw your pop page, Mist. Looks like you did a lot of work! Impressive! Here's my one pic: ![]() The city is out of revolt now... lovely. What to do about that spearman? I can't possibly hope that it's going to stick around in their core. And, like I said above, it is certainly capable of taking out plenty of Chariots before it's too wounded to defend, by which time it will have likely earned another promotion for Combat I/II/Formation, which is real bad. Even if I went for my original attack time, T57, the Spear would already be there. I either have to delay my attack until I have Axemen of my own, but that's going to take quite some time to get enough, or hope that Nakor/Gaspar actually come through and commit troops, which is unlikely. Anyway, I'm going to dash something off to them and see what comes of it. Might write Malakai, too, on an unrelated matter. Troubling events... most troubling, indeed.... I don't think that I'm going to get any more freebies here. Oh, yeah, and there's a Barb warrior harassing Eve/Ning. I took the Holkan out to cover the Worker. It would be a real kick in the ballcourts if the Warrior somehow won, shouldn't happen. Will be a pain if he walks around, meaning I have to bring Holkan back to city and retreat Worker, delaying chops. |
