Pitboss 18 Lurker Thread of Infinite Wisdom

Molach lost a border city to AutomatedTeller.

What AT doesn't know is that the whip in that city last turn was a greenery. Molach didn't realize he was at war until after he played most of his turn.

Turn 69

Yuri's Axe approaches Bacchus' underdefended Worker swarm. Benign or not?

The AT-Molach front. Should have a better view next turn.

This made me chuckle a little - HAK's forces all storm around the other side of the city, meanwhile Jowy's Worker pops out to rebuild a camp in their wake.

Not sure if BGN will take advantage, but Caledorn should probably proceed with caution.

Speaking of Caledorn... NOW would be the time to whip that Vulture, dude. Why risk losing your Sheep... or worse, your city?

Oxy logged in while BGN, Cheater Hater and I were in the game, and somehow managed to pause it accidentally. Mildly amusing conversation followed (read bottom to top).

Turn 70

Some rather aggressive settling by Ichabodarrell. Is anyone going to be able to hook up that Stone (or that Incense) without being sniped?

Cyneheard made peace with Pindicator. BGN declared war on Q to move a Scout through his borders.

WilliamLP's dotmaps are amazing. He REALLY should have taken Mindy's advice and settled the Darrel border on incense, on a hill, on a river. Now incense-hill becomes the perfect place for Darrell to stage, and Willy will have a heck of a time hooking the incense. Not to mention the stone, which might as well be under Darrell's city because William will have sack that city to claim it. Oh, and he missed a cow, which the incense spot would have brought in.

oy.

Ranking-wise, we're only a few ranks behind him! For the love of god, someone please land the Oracle already, if he has that lined up to finish on the same turn, it is VERY BAD for us!!

TBS has an academy already, which is why his teching is so good right now.

This actually could have happened?? As it is, Dtay's last missive says he'll land it in 2ish turns. Amazing story of Oracle paralysis in this game so far.

Dhalphir is surrounded by Cynehard, Mardoc, Azza and Nakor. All of them on the last page, making for the dimmest part of the picture in the threads. They all keep playing their turns though, so who knows.

Turn 71

The AT-Molach front. Pretty heavily defended Worker there.

Is that Galley loaded? I'm not actually sure, but if it is then dazedroyalty may be in trouble.

Does this mean WAR? (Mardoc-Azza border.)

myki going prospecting AGAIN? He was the one that had a failed gallery raid on Barry about ten turns back. Left unanswered in myki's thread: what possible benefit he would get by razing an intercontinental enemy city. Made more silly by the fact that his early galleys would have been hugely useful in meeting the other players and even seeking cnav... I don't get it.

Boldly passed on this??

But instead, a show of good faith.

also, a good idea for subs:

(June 13th, 2014, 20:19)Boldly Going Nowhere Wrote: One other comment: Can subbing players log into the game indicating which civ is being played? It is very difficult if not impossible to sort which civ is which on the tracker when there are multiple logins with the same name because the event tracker on our game tracker does not list which civ is logging in, just the player name for whoever is logging in. I don't care a out this for C&D. I do want to be able to sort through possible double moves. If we are relying on subs to play with some regularity then double moves are bound to be an issue at some point, most likely accidentally, but we will still need some means of differentiating logins to sort out alleged violations.

So, Parkin Sumer, Parkin Byzantium, etc. I'm not trying to make life difficult, but I do see this as making it easier to solve potential problems we are almost certain to encounter eventually.

That's a good point... I'll log in as Parkin (lurker), Parkin (TBS), etc from now on.
