For the moment, Jabbz
Eh, as good a reason as any for day one. I've yet to find someone scummy enough to lodge a real vote. Mine on novice is not to be taken seriously, and is unlikely to remain on him to EOD, unless he does something odd.
Strange post, simply agreeing that Lewwyn's vote is reasonable. Trying to friendzone the vote away? Pretty thin, I admit, but I'm not sure I would respond like that as town.
I'm actually rereading, not ISOing Jabbz, but his posts are the ones catching my eye.

Beside that however, I don't know about other players, but when I played wolf in the past I didn't constantly refer to the wolf QT. I felt doing so would show me to be scum really quickly. I can't imagine most of the rest of the players in this game don't view it the same. That kind of kills your whole idea of "prompted by the rest of their team" bit.
I don't think this means they are scum, or that you are, I just think it's a terrible place to stake a flag for their towniness, as it's basically a null tell.

So even though I recognised that I was wrong and went back on my read, I still get voted for it? Like, are you just assuming that scum are the only people who will ever make bad reads or something? Me being an idiot is an integral part of my town game, and I really don't like votes that are just because someone is bad. My vote is not moving.
The problem is that you didn't come to that recognition on your own, but had it pointed out to you. Yes, it's nice that you are able to recognize your mistakes, but you have to realize that this is something scum would do. Reach for an argument, get their hand slapped, then try to shake it off. The getting "confused" when someone calls it fishy just makes it smell worse.
Why is Dp's mistake suddenly a problem now that Adrien has voted Dp for it?

That's a shame. But at least we seem to have a shared suspect in Adrien. I like that you also didn't like Adrien's response to your call for opinions.

I don't like this at all. It is very Novice-like, but it also feels scummy. Sure, its good to put out reads. But no reasons on Adrien is a bit weak, but more importantly, why would you lynch Lewwyn, Novice? That is the red flag on this post to me. Lewwyn posted his greeting, nobody else was talking much, Lewwyn had to go to bed. I don't see that there is anything much more he could have done, he was probably only just waking up when Novice made this post, and there is no good reason to have him on a scum list. Unless you wanted to just fill out a list of names to make it look like you were hunting, but not actually thinking it through.
Why would I not lynch Lewwyn? Town leans on Dp and Winston leaves AdrienIer, Jabbz, you and Lewwyn by elimination. And regarding reasons for Adrien, I did follow up the above post with a note saying it was a PoE vote.

Maybe there's some nuance I'm missing. Strong language at this stage of the game would be "I would not lynch x".
Gazglum, you never responded to or commented on my rebuttal here. Any particular reason?
(January 11th, 2017, 03:46)novice Wrote: So Adrien, do you seriously believe that calling three players town this early is something scum would do?
This post in retrospect looks a little off to me. It really feels like scum trying to turn a slight push from town into a full on mislynch, but comes at a slightly different angle to avoid suspicion that might come from blindly copying someone else's case.

I guess I was focusing on Adrien, and also I didn't have much to say since it seemed to be an agree to disagre kind of thing, and you had joined me on Adrien. But I think that there is a slight tonal difference in saying 'i would vote for' vs 'i could lynch'. 'I could lynch' suggested to me that you would be happy to put the hammer down right now, that early in the day.
Obviously saying 'I would NOT lynch' would be a stronger statement, but nobody was saying that. I stand by my feling that it was too early to say you would lynch Lewwyn, and you didn't say 'by a process of elimination' at the time either, just put his name out there.

But I don't know. Gaz and Lew managed to go head to head in a manner where I now can't pick sides and just file them both away as town, but that's surely an unsound approach. Dp still seems town though.

I generally agree, actually, that scum tend to join a case with an additional angle of attack. To offer some defense, and not undercut my post 191 completely, let me suggest that it's only really a scum tell if said angle of attack is weak, contrived, or shows a disconnect from town mentality.

Hopefully he won't bring that here. I think novice is trying to make sure he has someone voting against him later so he can point to it for a fake clear. Scummy as heck IMO.
Why did you feel the need to poke me at this point, Jabbz?
As I've said before, I was trying to keep things lighthearted. You made a joke about feeling left out, I made a joke about voting you.
