We'll see if I can't take Paris next.

I'm back. That was unexpected. Haven't looked over any other threads yet, but will tomorrow after I get some sleep.

So, trying to get caught back up now. Couple questions Dave:

What's with all the fast worker builds? Those are the one thing I *don't* need at this point. In fact I have too many of them already. Why did you build more instead of the rifles/infra I do need?

Also, what's with windmills? I much prefer mines considering we have railroads coming up. I'd rather work a couple less flatland grass cottages and have those extra hammers than work mediocre windmills.

What is your plan for defending our newly captured city? We have absolutely no units in range and he has tons of two movers near it. Why was the city not just razed? At the very least, I need to you to play before I end turn to know what is in Appleoosa (and let me know what was there the previous turn as well).

When does healing take place? When I hit end turn, or when the turn fully rolls?

At the start of your next turn. That's also when fortification bonuses increase btw.

Are you going to try to hold the city?

Probably would have been able to if it had been when I ended. But not now. Instead will just see what the combat odds decide.

Was almost able to raze hoofington on a 24% roll, but the musketeer he had recaptured the city with survived with .5 health left. Oh well, that city won't survive me getting a rifle or two in the area.

Also, seeing as I haven't posted a demog screenshot in a while, here it is after ending turn (and with research turned up to 100% to give a better comparison to Sulla's GNP):

As you can see, at 100% I am no producing 1150 beakers/turn. A full 500 of that comes from my capital. My actual breakeven research rate considering our team's funding capabilities is a bit over 700 beakers/turn.

Research wise we could have finished off Sci Meth this turn, but decided to sandbag a bit so that monasteries would provide their benefits for another turn.

I know we talked about it briefly in game, but what Civic Switches did you have in mind for the upcoming Golden Age?

Quick note: I logged in as India and roaded the jungle west of Orleans so I could move my artist and end turn before my Macbook died.

As a side note, have you gotten rifles in Maurice Levy and Omar yet? I'll feel a lot better when the borders pop on those cities. Omar is particularly concerning, as Lewwyn can attack with siege out of the fog.

EDIT: While I'm thinking about defenders. Do you have a unit slated to defend your new wines city?
