Game bargains thread

I bought this one, my first Humble purchase ever. So far I've only played Fez and I don't like the control scheme too much. Do you guys play these sort of PC platformers via keyboard or do you use game pads? If the latter, which one?

I used to ignore controllers as well, but now I am convinced that for certain genres a controller is simply superior to mouse/keyboard.

I am using an XBOX 360 controller for Windows (it's also available in White and in a more expensive wireless version):

The advantage (besides the good handling) is that this is the most supported controller on PC. Sometimes you read on the Steam forums that people have problems with lesser known controllers, but not with this one. In addition, some other controllers label their buttons differenty, which can be confusing if a tutorial tells you to press the "RT" button and you wonder which one it actually is.

I have one of the cheap Logitech game pads. I use it mainly for emulators and it works well.

In this age of console ports, an XBOX controller is nice to have. Most I prefer mouse and keyboard for some things the modern controller is really good. Like racing games that are set up to take advantage of the pull triggers. Unfortunately for old school console games that rely on 8 direction (or 4 direction!) D-pad the XBOX controller is not always so good.

No. You can just pretend your not buying the game, though.

You can either redeem each individual item on Steam or create a gift link for each game you don't want yourself.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is 75% off on Steam. Buy this game if you enjoy RPG's like Mass Effect or Witcher.
