Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Could someone explain why Boldly would attack out with 1 axe but not the other axe?

I don't think there's a good answer to your question, but is there a reason why you didn't keep your chariots and vultures together on this turn?
Reply

Is there a way to make a 1 move unit surprise an enemy like a 2 move unit can?

Can't a chariot stack also hit San Antonio from the same tile as the vulture tile?

Was it that I was thinking I wanted a unit on the hill to get visibility or maybe that I wasn't thinking?

Are those two options necessarily mutually exclusive? wink

*NOTICE* I am going out of town for 4 days starting tomorrow for my best friend's wedding and I won't have Civ acccess. Am looking for someone willing to play a few turns for me. There isn't much going on in this game except for my slow and dismal death. For example, Zak just landed a surprise party of HAs on my little island and will be razing my city there, costing me a fur (i.e. happiness) and my only IC trade route. Upside: no pressure to mess things up since they already are! So, if that doesn't get someone excited about playing, I don't know what will!

Well, let's make an overview of our situation:

Here's the tech situation. We have some big problems here, considering this is an AW game. We can't build macemen yet (though we are close), we can't build pikemen and we can't build HAs (no HR yet). Zakalwe is owning our lands with double promoted longbows and HAs, while he don't have a lot to do against it.

My plan, after seeing the situation, was to finish Machinery for maces, get HR and head to guilds for Knights. It seemed to be a good plan until I realized we don't have iron for Knights. So, I decided to put CoL between these techs. I'll do a GA with our first GP (due in 3 turns) and use Caste System to try and get a Great Artist to bomb our city closer to the iron spot to the south (settled by Zak). Not sure if I can get it with the bomb, but I have to try something (I'll post a screenshot of the area in my next update). Another benefit of the GA is free switch to bureaucracy or Vassalage, seeing that we are currently on the initial civic.

This is the city where I'm trying to get the GP from. I changed the build to wealth, to speed up tech. I don't think we need the MoM, even if we are going for a GA.

We have a settler recently built, which I plan to put here:

I think Dazed made this settler to resettle the spot to the north Zak just razed. But I don't have enough military to make Zakalwe leave his defensive position. So, I'll settle a city near the dyes (we are in desperate need of happiness) while that tile is still outside Boldy's culture (not sure if the tile can even be claimed by Boldy's culture, but whatever). I think my creative trait will get me the dyes soon enough, considering it's a first ring tile. Plan might change depending on Zak's moves, though.

Power graph is incredibly worrisome. I desperately need knights! If I can get them, I'll build a bunch and try to inflict some pain in Zak's land.

Overview of my cities. Capital is awesome, but it's too low size. Need to grow it as soon as possible.
