Even better. We can discuss compensation when I get closer to taking the city. Might be a little bit. Need to rearrange units due to current changes in global balance. I sure we can come to some sort of agreement.

Alright, you have yourself a deal. Precise compensation to be discussed once you are in a better position to actually take the city.

I am negotiating in good faith here, don't make me regret it.

@oledavy,
What would you consider equitable compensation? No harm in working it out now.

Faith for me is worth about .5 hammers. I'm going to call that 1.5 gold (a bit discounted, since for purchasing purposes, each hammer costs 4 gold).

So, I'm currently earning 8 FPT  (6 from Holy Sites, 2 from trade routes) X 1.5 = 12 GPT
4 GPT (From Trade Confederation)

I'll note this doesn't include the TR loss of productivity the turn of, or any compensation for strategic interest.

It would be a little absurd to ask to charge you the rest of the game for the city-state, so I'll simply use the in-game arbitrary length of time in 30 turns, and multiply this value to me over the length of that period.

16 GPP over 30 turns comes out to 480 gold, either in GPP or paid in lump sum. Does this amount sound about reasonable to you?

That is quite high for a city with only rice and crabs, very little production , and will decrease happiness in my other cities. I think I will let them live for the duration of our agreement.

@Singaboy

I sent you the peace offer excluding Weidenfeld, adapt the deal to include or cede it per hand after the fact.
I could not choose it, no idea why.

That's odd.

I hope I can rectify this.

Guys, I got a HUGE problem. I do not want to pass my turn without consulting everyone especially Archduke. I guess we unwillingly uncovered some bugs, potentially game breaking I would say.

1. It seems a former capital of someone else can't be traded even though it appears in the trade screen. (unlike your own or the trade partner's capitals)
The only way this could be solved is by Archduke actually capturing it.

2. After accepting my original cities in the trade screen, I need to then choose 'raze or keep' the cities and they are then considered under occupation. This would be game breaking as I can never get my own cities (which were shown as returned) back in a trade deal even though the options shows that. I would have to conquer them (looks a little impossible to do quickly to me currently)

The part that clearly tells me that this is a bug is the fact that upon clicking keep city, the raze option isn't even an option as it is my own city banghead

I am glad that all this was tested so well by our friends at Firaxis smoke . I am fuming mad.

You could try send white peace and then trade cities in just a trade deal?

@Woden, how to test this? We can't just quickly play test this isn't it.

I guess Archduke has to conquer the former Viking capital while I have to capture all my original cities taking away even more population. I think, while I can continue to play, I am done with this game if the trade is not possible.

This is weird since it is my understanding that the occupation venality goes away regardless of ceding or not. Ceding has to do more with warmongering, if I remember correctly.
