[Spoiler PB62] Vanrober in a new chapter learning from Miguelito

A couple of things this turn.

First how does the cities number work? or how does culture work?

Fabled lost a city this turn, i was wondering what happend and then saw this, he has culture in those peaks, but he has just 1 city, how is that possible? did he lost a city planted there? i would swear that culture wasnt there a turn before did he lost his second city and capitol and settled a thirdone there and thats the last he have? But then should i still see the culture of his capitol???

   

Also the archer came back, 2 tiles from the deer, so i moved the warrior in just in case, im not sure if whiping the axe to be 100% sure, maybe the archer turns back again?


Also, in power graph there is some threat from mjmd???? He didnt play yet, is he waiting us to play to DoW? We cant really see anything yet but clearly his power spiked a couple of turns ago, some was archery and maybe a couple of skirmishers already out?

   

Also, microing the capitol, the stupid gobernor was thinking the plains forest as best tile possible, i ve put my third citicen in the floodplain instead, my plan was 2 whiping the granary into a spear in 4 turns with max overflow, having 12 turns of unhappines in the city, i think we start needing some MP or extra happy.

Fabled collapsing already is harsh.  At least that way we get some room for expansion in that direction - and gain team Tarkeel/civac as neighbours, lovely shakehead
Culture doesn't update in the fog,  so what we are seeing is consistent with him losing his capital and the peak belonging to a 2nd (maybe built a monument?) or 3rd city.

Take care with Mjmd. Are we prepared for him coming with chariots? Can he come from the fog and threaten the cap or Helium without us having time to whip a spear?
Skirmishers are less of a concern.  Just need to catch them with axes on flatland.

we can just whip 1 spear from helium right now, thats why i was thinking on whiping the granary into a spear in the capitol too

about the fabled, he had 2 cities, and the culture wasnt in the peak so i guess he did a thirdone there, but that would mean civac got 2 of his cities already. Crazy

I changed the fp of helium to a 2f1h tile so that theaxe finished 1 turn faster, it was just for that hammer that was taking 3 turns, this way i could move the warrior to MP and the axe will arrive to kill the archer since he moved back again.

I changed lithium into a spear, so that in 4 turns we could 1 whip it in case of need, ill put just 6h on it and move back to the granary. This city is what i wonder right now, what should be the next improvement? The gold right in the face of mjmd? we should have an axe spear to save the worker i guess, so maybe its better to get the farm on the FP of capitol? But then again, we need mp in the capitol or it will be unhappy. So maybe the fur? What if fur and silver gets roaded and done so that next city is down there? That would give us happy enough and it might speed a bit that newer city?

Horses are revealed, and we have one in helium bfc and mjmd settled on top of the horses, so he might trying to get a chariot rush somehow? Or is he trying to get HBR to make a HA rush? In any of the cases we need spears i guess. 

Or maybe next tech archery? Im saving gold this turn so that we could think about, i was thinking writting, but if mjmd is having any kind of agression in his head eventhough we are settling far so he feels confy with us...

In the fabled part, we dont see his capitol anymore so that must mean tarkeel captured it, so he just have another city close to the peaks with no military at all... If he last more than 5 turns i would be surprised.

In this case where tarkeel took 2 full empires, is there a way he doesnt win the game? Because i dont see it, its really sad for me because i wanted to make more chem posts :/ I guess the only way to stop him would be bing dying fast so that Nau gets 2 empires too... But then, the traits diff between Nau and Tarkeel is huge and i would say its more favored tarkeel than Nau long term thanks to ORG. In theory Mjmd and us will pretty much be the same and wont be able to kill eachother, or at least i hope so, so unless the praet rush of SD gets anything anywhere.... it seems game done?

Actually our demos look so nice right now, but long term i guess we wont be able to compete vs a guys with twice our land

  • I don't like trading 1h for 2f in general, but if you feel like it's worth it in this case go ahead
  • Now with the horses I feel vindicated regarding Helium's position, very nice smile. I also really like the southern horse, whatever city we build there will be awesome.
  • Did Mjmd build his 3rd city on top of the horse? Do we have a spear whippable in Hydrogen? At least with our Cre borders we have sufficient vision to not suffer nasty surprises.
  • I don't like archery, at all. With archers we get stuck in our cities and can watch him pillaging our land. Defend with spears and axes, and cats as soon as possible. I think we are now at the point where we can go for the straight Writing->Maths->Currency->Construction beeline. Constru before Currency if things get really hairy.
  • The worker could either camp the furs or cottage/mine that floodplains ice hill, which is a great tile. Probably a mine to be converted into a windmill later on. Did I mention that how huge serfdom looks on this map? Or is the culture expansion too far away yet? Maybe just a chop then? It seems like we could not build a useful road right now. The gold is a lot of travel time, then a lot of time to improve, and a food sink. Leave it for later. About the FP, are you sure you want to finish the farm, or rather cottage?
  • Do I understand correctly that nauf burned/conquered a ity of Bing's?
  • Way too early to be depressed and call the game. Of course Tarkeel is looking great with 2 capitals, but mind that an early rush often also costs hammers that are then missing for expansion. On this map he has a lot of neighbours, which means 2 things - he does NOT get the land of 2 empires, because now everybody around Fabled has extra space to settle into. And all of us will take care now to not let him run away with the game, so hopefully he has to manage a lot of border pressure on all sides (we should try to find his other neighbours and form alliances). If nauf eats into Bing we have space for settling into Bing's and Fabled's land, without having to invest in military. That's not bad at all. Maybe we can push for the hill city with rice/pig/copper as city #6 or 7?

Are we getting sailing for TR? That could be another option.

No we dont have a whipable spear in hydrogen, but in 2 turns we can 2 whip one, or at least that was my plan, i could use this turn into a spear to eb able to one whip if you feel its better.

The worker of lithium has no way to improve the FP ICE hill until culture is there so it would mean losing 1 turn, is it worth?.

With the other worker i guess the plan is cottage then horse right?

I forgot to mention, yes he did that to bing, so yeah it seems we will be able to get the wheat of the west and maybe we could settle in the grass hill close to ivory and corn of the north if mjmd gets distracted with anything else.

I felt that getting the pig rice spot from tarkeel would be hard to defend, we have those 2 lakes and the peak that make moving a bit hard.

Well we could sink a turn into a cottage on that riverside plains while waiting for culture on the ice hill. But I'm also fine with the fur camp or a chop.

2 pop whipping the spear is a bit more of a risk but of course wau better if we can get away with it. Yeah do it. Or even 2pop the granary and OF into the spear, but make sure to put 1 turn into the spear for emergencies first.

Yes the pig spot might be too hard logistically for a 6th city. We should still aim to get it and put pressure on Tarkeel. Mind that he also will have pretty long supply lines

I hope we can go without Sailing. First, we need writing for OB anyways, and that also gets us cheap libraries. We should be able to connect to Mjmd via road/cultured river. So whom do you want to connect to, naufragar? Spent seem with it imo. It didn't look like there will be ICTRs on this map, although maybe nauf has an island? After all he surely picked Dutch for a reason...

iw as thinking on farming those plains, i feel some lack of food in that city

Well yeah most cities on this map will lack food, and Lithium while strong early will never grow very tall, but a plains farm is just a bad tile. The 1c gets eaten up mostly by the additional maintenance from the pop, and you end up with a net gain of 1h, ugh.
At least as a cottage it's shared with the cap, so growing it will help long term.
