Yeah, and those MGs could probably be whipped right as Kremlin completes for a nice little synergy there. I like that as a plan.

Quick Note: India needs to end turn last on t174 so that the Communism Great Spy is born there.

I'm going to be without civ access until Saturday/Sunday night - depending on how things play out with me getting a new charger. However, I doubt we'll get a turn before then as it is.

After you two play t174, could one of you pause the game? I'll end turn for India so we get the GS where we need him.

What's the plan for the Great Spy? (Apologies if you already said so somewhere.) Infiltrating, scouting, settling, Scotland Yard, Golden Age?

Machine guns won't significantly improve the odds of our strack surviving. I'm not worried about Lewwyn actually killing units. I'm worried about him flanking our cannon out of existence with Currasiers. If he promotes them to Flanking II, they get a 45% chance of withdrawing - give him a dozen currasiers and he could shread our collateral. With this in mind, the sooner we attack, before he has curassiers, the better - even if that means going in without machine guns. I would advocate going music + military tradition for the units we can deploy on the field more quickly and that buff our attack - cavalry. We can feasibly cash upgrade me and Shoot's knights as well.

The thing is cavalry don't really help the attack at all. MGs will help both with protecting the stack and with holding cities I capture. Cavalry, because I have a one-mover stack, really don't help at all.

Leewyn needs to have a unreasonable amount of Cuirs before he can actually kill the cannons with flanking. Each flank does 1.3 damage, which only kills if there's 10 flanks on it. Since we have so much cannon (at least i hope we do, im not building any) not every cannon will be hit on every flank and not every Cuir attack will retreat, so I'd guess he's need around 17-20 before he can actually start to kill cannons by flanking, and since he still doesn't have MT yet it seems unlikely he can pull those numbers out before we attack. We can promote off any damage that we take regardless.

Anyway, nothing we do will help out much with flanking, but then again it isn't that threatening to our stack. Railroad is easily better than MT, and MG's do much better against most of Leewyn's units.
