Oh, and none of T-Hawks fancy charts matter when you're in 'free market', cuz every city comes with enough trade routes to be profitable from day one. Which is ludicrous to me as a purist, but it was voted into RtR the same way real life voters go gaga to vote for anything that promises free money.

Num of cities maintenance has a cap? Why? And I agree that Free Market being so good is weird, but Krill seems to have the approach of bringing all the civics up to the top tier (which was clearly State Property if you remove Corporations).
I remember reading T-Hawk's report (as I have basically all his reports), but this gives me a reason to read it again
T206 is another one of those boring turns--I did get peace with HAK, we got FinHarry's graphs (and I'm moving my EP to BGN), I'm moving to Education (under the thought that Military Tradition won't do much, it's a dead-end tech, and my ultimate military line is probably drafting Infantry), and I'm starting to move my naval units south to hit xenu (at least to get some scouting done on xenu, since I don't know if 12-15 units will be enough to chew through xenu's stack, which was giant last I got sight of it--maybe I should shuttle over Rifles and Cats in the first wave, bombard down the defenses, then move over some Knights/Maces/Cats to finish the city? The problem is that if I wait too long to finish the attack xenu might have time to shuttle his ships back to his homeland). The important thing that's happened is that plako moved his stack of doom--one space over
![]() That stack looks different than the last one though--all of the siege is here, but most of the two-movers are out of there. That could be worrisome, but I don't know why he wouldn't move his siege if he was planning an attack. Of course, the big foreign news is that Dreylin's the latest civ to fall to the FinHarry behemoth--he lost 5 cities this turn (so FinHarry's taking more than just the pindicator cities Dreylin sniped it appears), and is down to just 9 cities and has fallen to my level in score (we're tied right now, and I was ahead before I did a whip). Unfortunately Dreylin might not fold quite as easily as pindicator did--he actually has Rifles, for one (though they aren't that good against Infantry ), and revolted into Slavery and Nationhood this turn. Still, hopefully I outlive another civ!
T207: Along with the continued devastation of Dreylin by FinHarry, we also have some new action that hits a little closer to home:
That's right, right after I made peace with HAK, GermanJoey decided to go gain some territory. HAK was able to defend against me (all twelve units), can he defend against German Joey while still not having Rifles? Oh, and plako declared on me. ![]() Yeah, I should have seen it coming when plako moved the Cavalry off the staging square, but what will probably be my last couple turns in the game are starting. Let's look at what I have to worry about: Yes, that is 64 2-movers in the main stack, and some more are coming. Plako's even getting cocky, keeping his Workers and Settlers in reserve. He also hasn't moved up his siege yet--does he think he can beat me with just the stack of doom? Of course, even though I know I'm doomed, I'm not going down without a fight--this is why I beelined Rifles and have stayed in Nationhood. Let's see how things are looking after I played my turn: Yeah, I'm not attacking the stack this turn, even though it's almost entirely Cavs, Cuirs, and Musketeers--there are a ton of promoted Cavs in there (many with Pinch), and I can hit it with more units next turn (including my Cats--I thought about it, but decided against it). Right now I've piled all my units in Jeff, and would rather him attack me in there instead of attacking out to hit him. This might not be the best idea (since all my Cats would get destroyed without inflicting their collateral), but it's done now--can I survive longer then Dreylin? I should be able to, unless someone else jumps in the war. Here's all the military I have--hopefully it's enough to let me last longer: Rest of the pictures are in the folder.
Well, it looks like I lost Jeff based on the tracker--I'm assuming piling all my units into a city with only 20% culture defense was a bad idea
![]() (the thing is that I really didn't want to sim a 64 unit stack vs an ~30 unit stack, especially for something where I'm probably doomed)
Yeah, the Jeff defense plan was a dismal failure--I think I did a bit better by attacking out of my capital, though I still think plako will be able to take it if he wants it. Of course, we have one more hail mary left, just like in PBEM58--Krill has a decent-sized stack within range of the plako doom stack, including a bunch of cannons--he just logged in, so please attack plako for me
![]() T208 pictures are here--hopefully I'll make it at least to T210, though xenu's moving his stack back down south as well ![]() Edit: Well, plako logged in and out without doing anything--hopefully this is a sign that Krill did attack the stack and/or invade from the other side of plako's empire (I think they're neighbors to be honest)

For example, Krill: (Lurkers: Spoilers below because CH knows a lot of this from a previous life. Also because Plako cometh, so its hardly going to effect the outcome of the game.) Krill is used to winning. Novice is too, and together they have quite a few notches in their staff. In civ, winning usually means intentional actions and long term plans... so lets suppose those purple troops arent on a sightseeing tour. Also, in this stage of the game the chance of keeping territory half a world from your core is ZERO. So maybe they're after cheap pillage gold, but you would have seen that already: they have bypassed juicy cities they could take, right? So what motive do they have? Whose territory are they in? Why? I know Krill/novice are at war with BGN, but I have no clue where BGN is (from either life). If we're assuming they want to knock down leaders, why wouldn't they just try to finish off dtay? I don't know who their eastern neighbor is (I think it might be Ruff? If so, I don't know who's after him). But still, why the heck are all the troops in my territory (and HAK's territory, for that matter) if they don't plan on interfering in the conflicts? And if you're attacking wetbandit (and I don't know if they're neighbors either), why are you waiting so long? (and to be fair, I feel like I'm doing better in PB23, even though I was set up a lot better there. It's also a lot harder to do this prediction without decent map knowledge this late in the game. And Krill/novice saving me is just wishful thinking at this point )
