Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoilers] Adrien and Mardoc relax and play civ

Finally a battle that went in our favor! jive

A couple more like that and we might actually have some spare production, to put toward settlers or cleanup or something.

Something weird must have happened at the interturn because I don't see anything that could have changed our beaker output. Long story short, instead of finishing maths (barely but it was supposed to work with the tile arrangement I did last turn) we came exactly 1 beaker short. Thankfully no chops were scheduled for this turn so we didn't lose any hammers.

Jowy is retreating. Not sure why.

Can't think of a reason off the top of my head. I'm guessing he's planning to come back from another angle: if he wanted peace he should offer it.

So I guess the plan is now to plant some of our backlines cities, tech up to Construction, and take back at least Triceratops? I don't think we can really counterattack without cats, now that he's got mixed stacks.

Well, ok, I can see half a reason. He might want to pillage the roads leading to Triceratops before he offers peace. That would give him a chance to hold the city.

Plan is fishing (because we're getting coastal cities planted now) then probably masonry->construction. I was thinking about going alphabet to OB with Fenn or HBR for HAs but for the former we need military techs more than eco techs right now (plan is to survive, not to win the game anymore) and for the latter spears are still better than HAs so we wouldn't be better off. It's just that construction is expensive...

I don't see why he'd want to destroy the roads. In the 10t period we'd be able to get roads online again. Except if he wants to get a ceasefire ?

Hmmm it seems like you're right, except I'm still waiting for the peace offer.

Fishing makes sense. Sailing might too, but only if our coastal cities are working more than the resource tiles and we already have granaries built - so realistically it can wait a while. Not that you mentioned Sailing, just something that crossed my mind. (also, Sailing might be handy for expansion once we fill those backlines).

Agreed that Construction needs to come next or nearly next. Is Masonry a prereq? If not, I don't see a need for it. HBR is handy, but the cat is fundamental. That's true even if the map weren't super hilly.

Yeah, I was thinking he'd offer ceasefire at best. But I suppose he has no reason to, really, except to help the timer. We won't ever give him a long term peace, and he's got to know that. He needs to deny us first strike ability to keep Triceratops. Still, as long as he doesn't have cats, any stack that can take Triceratops ought to be able to stand on a hill next to it. Just a question of whether the killing happens on our turn or his, right?

Masonry is a prereq yes. As for the rest of your message, I agree with everything you said.

Jowy is approaching, but he won't be able to take the cap. My problem is that I can't counterattack.

And that he has more coming. Or is it a stack he's building to attack Fenn ?
