Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[spoilers] Commodore rolls it lolrandom.

Thoth is going for the bomb strat while Krill at least finishes a few components.

Jet fighters are completely overwhelming, starting to endure paratrooper drops now while clouds of fighters die at 3-1 or 4-1 ratios. I'm not pressed horribly for culture, but every resource helps and this is annoying.

By far the biggest risk is a massive line-drive south with this big navy, he can reach Pool in, um, 3t if he enjoys nothing but success.

Sorry for the lurkers we don't see a full-bore Future Tech war. Thoth's toys are overwhelming if they get on land, I'm not going to be able to resist much longer.

Even if he blocked every single town, though, timeline is intact with Starvation Artists. The +153cpt is huge.

Horserace Bet achieves Legendary, as was prepared for since 150 years ago. All culture cities must be inland for a CV attempt.

Former Yurian capital of Port Rando finally got big enough to take over trade routes from this little thing. Cute little spot, one of only two Astro Lands in the entire map, this has made thousands of commerce over its lifetime even while it never ever has grown.

Anyone have any final questions? One way or another, this game is over by Thursday.

Two more turns. Still no Manhattan Project, still no major invasion, just the feeling of another shoe about to drop...somewhere. Need a minimum of 1,756 culture per turn.

The reason I had this as a backup plan from turn 50 or so is this:

If you cannot have all three CV cities inland, and TWO TILES INLAND, then a peer competition situation like this makes CV a fool's game. But with the protection of inland...

Good guy, Magic Science, doesn't know what's going on but still wants to not allow shenanigans.

Eleventh hour assault. ICBMs next turn, looks like a boat full of commandos incoming. Neat. That one quecha keeping dice alive tickles me. Infantry finishes next turn, bombers hit those gunships.

This dump is just for fun, I'm happy to play around. No modern armor yet, which is funny.

Surprised there aren't more paratroopers here. Worker positioning means I can't shred this this turn, but that's fine, next turn is the Last Turn.

Everything is about squeezing one more turn of culture in Pool. So once the arty weakens his visitors...
...I'm looking to max GG points. Pikes vs gunships, an old meme but it still works.

It worked...
...so now I need just 1,720 culture next turn in this city (this is pre-settling, pre-hooking-one-more-fish).

Oh, heh. And one last essential bit of micro...absolutely had to pop these borders to trap a worker pair if he transships them next turn. Ur in MY culture, son.

Thrilling conclusion in ONE MORE TURN.

Every single point matters. ICBMs will fall next turn, although with RtR removing the "nuke" tag I'm not entirely sure what they do.

That line was read in my head with a Marvin the Martian voice.

Definitely the reference. I...uh...might be in trouble, because I thought that reaching Legendary on three cities meant winning the game.

I don't know Marvin the Martian, but hitchhikers depressed robot Marvin also works for this line smile
