Now he's back up to four ports, galleons a threat.

Nothing for it, although I might kill this last north port just to ensure my Actual Core is safe.

Deeply frustrated with Superdeath peacing out. Now it's just a huge slugging match while Amicalola grows unstoppable. I'd have been extremely happy splitting Ginger with Superdeath, and granting him rights to Gavagai. I'd have wheeled around and tried to take Amicalola's islands in alliance with Nogger.

Chicken.

Gavagai's made sense. He retook his own city, and then didn't expose himself with his relatively small stack. My only explanation for Superdeath is that he felt like his reputation as a completely worthless ally who will screw his friends at the drop of a hat was in danger, so he had to make sure to reinforce it

Thirteen cannon is enough for me to not be able to take the initial hit, but I can crack this if Ginger is foolish enough to walk into my culture.

So...
There we go. I'm starting to roll off the lines here, but I need at least three more rounds of whipping my entire empire before I can venture into Greece:

Well, into Greece en mass. This isn't a hyper-heavy assault, but if he screws things up those are 9xp knights, so they have Mobility access.

It's all alone. Superdeath is out doing stupid Superdeath things, and Amicalola is smartly tying Nowfrowgor back up in the Lands of Hate:

Unless Ginger screws this up fast I think Amicalola has this sewn up. Pity.

With this becoming a duel again (wait- is it a duel now?), how do you figure your prospects are for the remainder of the war?

Also, is this a "til death do us part" conflict between you and ginger here or do you see another peace treaty as a possible ending?

Kind of a duel. Nowf is still at war and his galleons are a nice help if it becomes a sea war, but he's busy with Amicalola mostly. No reason to not stay at war with Ginger, he's only going to keep recovering:

It’s come to my attention that with the recent resettlement of a couple cities, Ginger has crept up once again to above 50% of my build queues. Thanks to SD’s chickening out, that’s no good. I’ve been trying to ease Ginger’s worries over on his barren north coast, he’s down to just four defenders.

Clearly, it’s a couple muskets and a longbow behind a castle though, so look how hopeless it is to my amphibious knight here. Clearly even though I have ten hitters in range it’s pointless to try, right?

That’s not what careful simulations said, though. Knights are shockingly powerful units, and the sacrifice of four 9-xp knights led me to this...
...which granted me this outcome:
And then there were six build queues again. I’ll trade 5 knights for a city any time in this conflict. Plus this might help Superdeath be encouraged to actually pitch in again after he conquers Gavagai in a few more turns. Worth a try.

Of course, this is the real reason why it was critical to clear that city...
...my blind-click of the caravel was a bit oops but it might help save a Nowfrugar galleon. It is absolutely critical that Ginger not be allowed to easily break into the northern ocean to shred into my Actual Core. This is not a navy that can stop a big frigate stack:
Three more turns to Astronomy. It’s going to hurt to cancel the Colossus, but privateers can trade at an actually reasonable rate against frigates, unlike my poor overbuilt caravels. Still, interesting times. Hold on, Nowfroggur, just need to kill this existential threat and I’ll be delighted to join you against the juggernaut that is Amicalola.

Nice raze. Is Ginger still advancing?

He's sitting in his new city hoping his capital Great Person Roulette gives him another artist, that's the only way he's cracking me overland. Meanwhile, unless SD comes in I've got to wait for over a hundred invaders.
