Banter Thread!

My boy Rudyard:

God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle-line,
Beneath whose awful Hand we hold
Dominion over palm and pine-;
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget-;lest we forget!

The tumult and the shouting dies;
The captains and the kings depart:
Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,
An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget-;lest we forget!

Far-called, our navies melt away;
On dune and headland sinks the fire:
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
Judge of the Nations, spare us yet,
Lest we forget-;lest we forget!

If, drunk with sight of power, we loose
Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe,
Such boastings as the Gentiles use,
Or lesser breeds without the Law-;
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet.
Lest we forget-;lest we forget!

For heathen heart that puts her trust
In reeking tube and iron shard,
All valiant dust that builds on dust,
And guarding, calls not Thee to guard,
For frantic boast and foolish word-;
Thy Mercy on Thy People, Lord!

This mean you're flinging units at me again?

Well that was a fun start. Looking forward to next in my collection of catastrophic enemy power graph freefalls.

Expensive turn! That cost me four archers, two spears, and a phalanx. frown Worth if for the comical looks of surprise on the cavalrymen faces.

We're moving again. Sorry for the delay... Got back last night, played PB5 turn, and then crashed.

Also Commodore, interesting that you don't account for all those units of yours that got crushed the previous turn to make that possible. tongue

I've learned by now that playing turns while severely low on sleep and possibly-on-the-verge-of-sick is a really bad idea that I should avoid as much as possible. wink

Ruh-roh, it's the dreaded "Commodore updates thread, holds save" trick. I'm ready for an interesting turn. smile

You'll be sorely disappointed. It's the slightly less dreaded "Commodore updates while in the testing lab, unfortunately unable to get away to play the save until he's done with work today" trick. Sorry.

That is the most villainous of all tricks.
