Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

It'S Krills copper - but Krill will have Iron at the capital in ~7 turns. Maybe even connected before CF plants his pink dot.

I think Cornflakes is correctly prioritizing aggression here; that is a tight timeline for his operation to be successful though. Krill still needs 9 worker turns for the iron to be hooked up...

I’m assuming the plan is upgrade warriors to axes -> walk them out to prevent Krill booking up his metal. If the vision works out that seems good to me.

This is very important. CF has the second worst start I think - Yuri is worse again.

FWIW, I think Krill should get a reload at the very least, to see if it can be re-created. I'm not an admin for this one, or else I'd see if I could find some time later today to recreate this.

Yuris is screwed regardless And obviously can't know what Commodore is up to, but I'm not sure why they prioritized settling an obviously safe backlines site over pushing out of their peninsula. Commodore isn't exactly being subtle, he has an archer parked in view on a tile Yuris still hopes to settle.

Yuris probably felt he needed copper hooked to contest the peninsula, and I'm not sure he's wrong about that. Still, it could have been better to forward-settle with archer support, and hope to have metal hooked in time.

Yeesh, feeling pretty bad for yuris. Start screwed against Commodore two random games in a row. He basically has to Axe rush Commodore ASAP or his game is already over. It's probably over anyway, but eh, what are you gonna do.

I feel like Yuris is making a mistake with the amphibious attack. He can't attack out of the fog, meaning he gives Commodore at least 1t warning. Whereas a land army can move out of the fog, meaning 2t warning. So for amphibious he takes one less turn, but has to spend on three ships that serve no other purpose, attack with the amphibious penalty, and has less flexibility.

I also feel like Cornflakes is making a mistake trying to settle west. Conflict with Krill is inevitable, and it exposes an additional flank.

It's tough for both of them to be boxed in without an angle for a surprise early attack. I think Cornflakes at least has a shot by settling west if MS doesn't maintain Krill's aggressive posture after the handover, but Yuris's position looks bleak already.

EDIT: In response to Yuris' latest post about needing 5+ galleys, and thinking back on the ill-fated galley/sword expedition against Bing in PB77, uh, is history repeating itself? lol
