Now that the excitement of everyone settling their first city is over, there's not a whole lot to report on. Especially with Mogrika only trenching through jungle.
Demogs:
Everyone has popped their borders now. The lowest is 16, so that means last turn it was 16 and 8 for land tiles.
Since the average is 18.25, that means the 2 unknown civs have a combined land of 37. That means they are either 18 and 19 or 17 and 20. I can't really get better than that with making some guesses.

Finally, I have 2.11% of land on the map with 17 tiles. That means there is around 800 tiles on the map. I can't really do much with this info until I scout some more, but at least it's something.

Oh, Cj got a tech worth 2k, almost certainly Hunting enroute to archery. Not good.

I'm liking how this thread has started out.
Is your city naming scheme terrible 80s bands?

Thanks.
As for the naming scheme, I confess it's probably the weakest part of my play, since if I think of a name I'll eventually want to change it to something else. I'll probably just keep switching it around until I need to stick to something, but pre-contact and pre-2nd city I can switch it around to whatever I want.

I've been simming some starts out, and I wonder if I've made a mistake by settling in place. I only have 3 early game tiles to improve (2 food and 1 hill) and after the worker finishes improving the 3 he has nothing to do for 5 turns or so. Maybe he can do a little scouting near my cap since there's no barbs but in MP that's probably an insane thing to do. I guess I'll just hope for some copper or horses in my cap to improve but what are the chances of that happening?
Another problem in place is that I'll definitely be working some unimproved tiles for a small amount of time since I have so much food that the worker cant keep up. And I don't even have any forests to get 3 food/prod instead of 2. Ah well.
I can get a settler out on T25 and get a second worker out 2 turns after that. I hope that's ok in comparison to everyone else since I don't have any forests to chop (or work).

Actually, I have no reason to grow to size 4 at all except for a double whip, since I lose a food to unhealthiness which means I lose 1 fpt instead of breaking even when compared to size 3, but even then the time it takes to grow to size 4 without a terrace and then growing back means that I probably shouldn't be whipping much at all (despite 2 6-food tiles). The first time I'll whip is probably for the settler for the third city.
Micro plan currently has settler out on t22, and I'll have 3 workers by t28.

For turn 5, rival worst GNP has gone up to 18 and I'm last with 18, so I think everyone is working on a 2nd tier tech.
If I had to guess:
WK - AH
Cj - Archery (could be BW but then why tech hunting first?)
mb - AH (Pottery seems unlikely for first tech)
Shoot - Religion
Silent - Religion or BW
The good news is if I'm wrong it doesn't really matter.

Forgot about CRE.
Ah well, Shoot and Silent (the 2 CRE civs) both got a tech this turn. No rise in soldier points means that it's a fairly easy Agriculture for both of them.

Ohhhhhh, a corn AND an irrigated rice. 2nd city is definitely going that way.
Plan is to move onto the forest hill to see all the surrounding neighbourhood, and then we can begin dotmapping.
AH in at end of turn, no horsies anywhere. Heading to Mining -> BW next.
Demogs:
Main thing of note is that the GNP max/min has gone to 20/17 compared to the 19/18 value it was last turn. The 20 is easy as it comes from CRE & pre-req bonus for either Shoot of Silent choosing a tech but the 17 is strange, since someone lost GNP. The only way I think it could happen is either by someone switching techs for something with no pre-req bonus (hiding research, evil!) or someone losing commerce somewhere (which seems unlikely as everyone should be working the best tile for worker first).
GNP is a silly stat though, dunno why I'm tracking it.
