Well 2nd attempt at giving you T19 update.

I accidentally clicked on Ruffs thread. Nearly clicked post reply - but fortunately spotted Ruff's name at top and came promptly out. That would have been a nightmare had I posted in there. smoke


Anyhow, after triple checking where I am I shall begin.

This was the diplo reply and next message to TT.

On closing down, I had another pop up with another message stating he will have a new scouting unit shortly.

If he comes back confirming the Corn and Marble, then I think I may convince him of a balanced map and that may make settling easier.


Stamford Bridge completes Warrior and starts another. 2nd Warrior heads NE. If my hunch is right, I would like to know what TT has to his NE and can figure out the fog bit my first warrior missed by heading south of TT's lands.

Damn you Amelia. I have no idea what to do now - I wasn't expecting it there at all. Should I mine it? Should I leave it for the commerce early doors. That commerce early doors could be really useful - but I need the copper for my UU. banghead banghead banghead

I'm not sure if I should revolt into slavery next turn too or wait. Normally I would wait and chop my first settler, but with 5F Wheat and 4F Corn (once online) whipping could be a real option here. Theres no rush on this - but I need to think about it.

GNP not great but i'm not working any of those high commerce tiles yet.

Massive point score changes this turn. I'm not certain why - but an idea has just sprung to mind.

NSA - increase of 11 points. Why is this. I recall a chat with WK in my PB3 game where I believe he told me that border pop land points get added - x turns later. If that is the case, and I have deduced this right - a border pop is an increase of 12 tiles. However, 1 of the tiles is a lake tile not land so does not count. Are we all on a same start I wonder huh rolleye

Ruff - increase of 11 points. Assuming same as NSA.

Ad - increase of 11 points. Assuming same as NSA and Ruff.

TT - increase of 20 points. Ok not so easy. TT get 11 points as mentioned above with NSA / Ruff / Ad. TT also grew to size 2. 3 point bonus there. That means TT gets a tech this turn too. But what huh

Checking my spreadsheet and trying to keep it aligned with the demogs, I notice my soldier points have moved quite a bit. For starters I think TT got a tech with soldier pts value of 2k. Not only that - it has taken him 14 turns. I think he has discovered AH. If that is the case - I wonder if we can discuss resources on the map?? I let him know where copper is if he tells me where horses are. Is this allowed in this game - or is that breaking the rules? I wouldn't mind some lurker input here.

This alone - didn't bring my soldier average in line so I think Ruff and Ad both built another warrior yikes Thats 3 a piece now. I hope they are not heading my way.

Turn 20 has been played this morning.

Message from TT was that he does have Marble to the north but not Corn to the NE. But then again, neither do I duh. I sent my apologies and asked again if it was Rice.

2nd warrior continues to the NE to discover what land lies up there.

Initial warrior continues East. This is the map as I see it now.

If my hunch is right, then this is how I see the land to the east. Apologies for the picture, my map stitch skills are not great.

If I have this right, then I probably expect TT to have similar land to his west. I suppose I will find out over the next 10 turns Barb permitting.

This turn NSA jumped up 3 points. Up to size 2.

Ruff increased by 6 points. 4 turn tech. I'm putting that down as Hunting.

Soldier pts didn't balance. I think NSA may have lost a warrior as they were the highest in soldier count previously and it has now dropped..

T21 played.

Sorry no screenshots this turn.

1st Warrior heads NW around TT's borders and under forest protection in case of any barbs. Land consistent with mine so far.

2nd warrior heads NE to the coast and reveals a Silk across a river.

I changed from working the Rice to Working the Copper tile for the extra commerce and bring down Hunting by a turn or two. I grow to size 3 in 2 and the third warrior completes in 2 turns also.


Points wise Ad increased by 13 pts this turn. I think this is his land points from border pop. This will be confirmed in a few more turns if it all falls in line with everyone elses border pop.

T22 played.

Moved my second warrior onto the silks and planted myself right next to a Barb bear banghead

It has to be Ad that got Monotheism as he has a points score increase this turn.


I moved my initial warrior west of TT's lands.

The more I head west, the more it mirrors my opening lands also. I am 99% certain both TT and I have the same starting lands and surroundings.

I wonder if the other 3 civs have the same. huh

toast Interesting map idea Amelia. Certainly will be interesting to read up the other threads post game to see where we all settled and why and what improvements to the lands we decide to choose.


Stamford Bridge continued to work the copper tile to gain access to Hunting 1 turn quicker. On ending turn, I was the first to 3 pop though jive and my third warrior was built.

I need a naming theme for my units. Any lurkers out there have any recommendations?

Turn 23 has come back around quickly. jive

On loading up the game I was met with a diplo screen.

jive Great, maybe TT is ready to talk settling rights jive

Errrr........... No. It's a blank message from Louis.

At first I thought it was a misclick so on exiting had a look around the map.

Ad has a warrior on TT's borders. I wonder what the diplo situation is like between him and TT huh I have a horrible feeling TT has been building a scout yikes

I decided to send a message back to Ad. Sorry no screenie taken, but it went something like:

"Greetings! How goes the land to the North West? I believe congratulations are in order in your achievement to obtain 2 of the 3 religions currently gone"

Lets see if he comes back in a cordial reply.


Hunting completed at the end of this turn and everybody got the same 13 pt increase that ad received a couple of turns back so must be points in relation to a border pop.

Stamford Bridge is building another Warrior (4th now) due in 4 turns which is in line with it growing to size 4. I moved the worker to the Forested hill South of Stamford Bridge to chop next turn then mine. I will put the chop into a Settler.

I forgot to switch my EP's to Ad this turn duh so I have a 2/2 split for this turn with TT.

Turn 24 played last night.

Diplo wise I heard nothing. Zip. Nadah!

Initial warrior continued west. 2nd warrior was healing but will have to retreat next turn as a barb lion has appeared. 3rd warrior is heading south to unveil the fog but if it is like the land TT has then we already know most of it.

AH started for research.

TT got a 5 turn tech this turn. No soldier points increase though so I think is either mysticism or fishing or masonry. I have marked down fishing but I might change that.

Turn 25 played. jive

On opening up the game - I am met with a diplo screen, and because of the music that appears before the graphics, it's Louis. Ad has made a response.

That was kind of him to offer. I'm not going to say no now. However, my warrior is heading SW over the next couple of turns to unveil the layout of the land. The land starts and surroundings of my land and TT are identical so far (well I have not managed to find anything different myself). I'm getting more and more convinced we probably all started this way.


Here is the map of the land I have discovered so far.

My initial warrior is heading SW as mentioned above and expect to discover sheep over by those forests one tile west.

My second warrior is heading back to cultural borders to heal as a barb lion appeared last turn.

My third warrior is heading south and is currently one east of the stone. He will head SE.

Ad is just east/north east of Corn by TT's borders. Not sure what TT is playing at, but with no units in defence so far, he's playing a risky game. Granted he probably could get a warrior completed but had Ad attacked, his game could have been all but over, similar to the fear of play I expected him to play on me.



Stamford Bridge is at size 3 but will be at size 4 after one more turn. It will also produce a warrior at same time. My worker will complete it's chop in a couple of turns too. This will go into a settler. AH due in 5 turns.

Only changes here are NSA getting a 6pt tech and that max soldier points increased by 4k. This makes The Wheel an obvious choice. That is what I am marking down for now anyway. Too much of a coincidence I feel for a 2k tech and a warrior.

Turn 26 played.

Had a couple of diplo messages. Unfortunately I forgot to take a screenie of Ad's message but it was basically head NW towards the Gold to meet Ruff. I responded with I need to head SW for a couple of turns but will then head that way.

He wants the Northern part - I could live with this I think. I'm just wondering if I should disclose that the map is the same or not around our lands.


Stamford Bridge had a chop into the 4th warrior but as I already had 15/20 hammers with 4 (I think) hammers this turn anyway I decided to not switch to settler and let the overflow go into the settler next turn.

Stamford Bridge is also now up to size 4 jive No one else has hit size 3 yet yikes

I might revolt into slavery next turn.


And the Demogs for T26

I had a bit of a mare when it came to balancing the soldier points and the points movements.

It did not help that I initially moved NSA from 2 pop to 4 pop rather than adjust my pop column duh

Anyway once that was fixed I noticed the following:

Ruff got a tech and so did Ad. I have Ruff down for Mining (5 turns) and Ad down for AH (13 turns). What I don't understand is why Ad didn't go Hunting first huh I'm sure he has not got hunting too. He can't get mono without polytheism I don't think. And unless he got hunting a warrior at same time, i'm fairly certain he has the wheel. Maybe smoke C&D on my behalf.

Other things I noticed to get the soldier points to balance is that TT / Ruff / Ad all built a warrior this turn too.

T27 update

I moved my initial warrior SW. This is what I discovered:

Very little in terms of map info there. Looks like we have more coast.


I moved my third Warrior South. This is what I discovered.

Gems jive I'm thinking where my thirs warrior is currently situated looks like a good settling spot. With Cows on hand from the off, with a border pop it will grab the 2 other resources of stone and gems. On the other hand maybe 1 east might also be good and grab 2 cows and gems but will need a border pop to achieve.


Still all of this could change dependant on where horses are.

I think its about 73% chance if I attack the lion next turn but I shall not be trying that. I might just fortify and hope the RNG gods gift me some xp.



As you can see from the above screenshot, the overflow is going into a settler this turn and I have revolted into Slavery this turn. I also moved my worker east to commence another chop. I think this will be the quickest way to get my settler out. I have also moved my fourth warrior West towards those floodplains. I think that is where I will settle first and I want a Warrior revealing whats out over there before I start moving my settler across. Last thing I need is a barb settlement around there. I also think that mining the copper might be worthwhile for safety reasons.

With max food improvements at Floodplains spot, I might try and produce a few workers out of there through whip First thing might be to chop the forest for a monument though - if I get around to researching mysticism!

With this in mind - I need to secure a NAP with TT for a longer term, and if Ad and Ruff are wandering my way, need to ensure safety with them too!

Not too shabby.

Nobody increased in points this turn. Average Soldier points increased though. I have NSA down as building a warrior for that.
