Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] - Cyneheard of Macedonian Rome

I'm fine, but it's requiring me to delay the WB a bit by spitting out a warrior.

I started the warrior this turn, and grew to size 2. So I'm at 2/10 this turn, and next two turns I can produce 6 more hammers at +0f and have more than enough overflow to finish the WB a few turns behind schedule. So much for the fast Fishing/Mining start. And I'll have 2 Agg warriors available, I'm not terribly worried, and the worker's first improvement is on the other side of the warrior.

Everyone else finished a tech on T4, and I just missed it completely in the "OMG Scooter is attacking me" worries.

Wait. That's 12k power average, which with a 16k and an 8k implies that Dazed has 12k power. As you can see in the banter thread, it should be 14k. And it's been that way for a while.

Well, scooter got me to build a warrior (finishing the warrior doesn't slow down the Workboat, which was already delayed by 2t to make sure that I don't die), but he's going to lose his own warrior instead if he's not VERY careful & smart.

Hopefully he doesn't expect the Archer 2N of him to be there.

I'm going to revolt to Slavery next turn; the Workboat being in transit is a perfect time to do so, and I'd like to get my worker out ASAP.

Scooter moved his warrior 1NE, and so I attacked it with my archer (72.5% odds), slaying it. Status after T8:

Also, 1W of the crab is COPPER. Of course, this copper is nearly impossible to get to, as it's 4 tiles from the capital and on flat ground. But it's there. And it will be a glorious 2/4/1 tile when improved and secured.

And a realization:
Agamemnon is now 3XP, and so will take Combat I in a second. A Combat I archer on a hill gets odds (60%) against a Skirmisher. That may be really helpful in the near future...

So, we had a bit of a blitz session over the weekend. Turns were moving too fast for me to update, and I was kinda burnt out by the end of it. So here's T30, which I just sent on to dazed:

Note: Scooter and Krill each have 2 cities. Don't know where they are, which is good news for me. Yes, I know, I'm not rushing the Praets out ASAP. Got Pottery first. Sue me. My goal is to go time the settler with IW coming in and ensure that I get it up and running ASAP. That will be a perfect time to have an econ crash due to high costs.

So, b/c Dazed did something weird when he played his turn, the game offered me this option:

I had to see if it worked. It did: that's anarchy to switch into OR.

Note my tech situation.

I didn't actually play that save; I reloaded from the beginning and played straight (the only move I made with that save was to test the OR revolt).

Also, I'm putting together a stack of praets right now, and am debating who to go after. Economically, I'm not doing well, so breaking someone's capital city would be awesome. Probably Scooter, his power is the lowest of everyone's by a fair margin. Krill seems like a bad idea, given a) his position, as he's not close to me, and b) he's got Skirms. I think I get to about 6-8 praets, bring in a few support troops, and go for it. Dazed is the other choice, really, but a few turns saved is a big deal.

I think there's a check somewhere in the turn processing for invalid civics - e.g. in case you lose Paya or the Mids. So I would expect you to get kicked to Paganism again next turn.
I have to run.

I didn't play the turn with an OR revolt; clearly, I shouldn't have access to OR, so I didn't try to take advantage of the bug by playing a turn under an illegal ruleset. My "OR" turn was just revolt, grab sceenies, and then quit and load the original turn and play normally.

Yeah I understand that. I was just theorizing what would happen next.
