IMD/IND India looks very appealing for GLH REXing. What's the map size?
Map is small. Rome would be a great pick, apparently, only based on the starting techs + no points. Praetorians are just icing on the cake, since no one would want to mess with the praetorian guy + they are good enough units to use even in the cannon era.
I don't see how I could make a sucessful attack with Praetorians, really. Well, since this is normal speed, I guess it makes more sense.
Ragnar or Hannibal of Rome are good picks, considering the power of financial and the limits of possible combos that our pick method gives.

Ruff_Hi picking Sury is a good thing and a bad thing. Good, because it denies Scooter a powerful combo with Carthage. Bad, because I think Scooter next choice is EXP/IND. maybe IND India will make him change his mind.

Rome or India, that is the question...
Argh, with SPI/EXP going for regoarrarr, scooter will most likely want EXP/IND for his Carthage...
Anyone want to chime in with their opinions about what is better:
Industrious India + CHA or IMP
Rome + a good combo leader, like ORG/IND, EXP/IND (which would annoy scooter a lot :P)...
And if I want Rome, should I get the leader first (there's only one pretty great EXP leader left) or Rome?
I'll leave this question for like an hour, waiting for some input. After that, I'll make my choice.

I think India would be my daring pick, while Bismark (Zara, FDR) of Rome (or the fall back England) would be the safe one.

Just ask yourself, what would Stupendous Man do?

Ok, I've picked De Gaulle of India already. Feel free to come here and bash at it as a bad pick.
I almost went for Augustus of India, but I have a feeling this map will be starved of happy resources and kind of blobby, i.e., with very defined spheres of influence. With the high maintenance, having higher cities + wonders might work and Charismatic helps more with naval combat.

Ok, Commodore, let's cut to the chase here: How much do you want to irrigate my corn? It can be a lake irrigation, I don't care. But I want that irrigation, you hear?! I WANT THAT IRRIGATION!!
