Alright, barring a surprise that ruins things from Pindicator, I've decided on my pick. Internet high-five to whoever guesses it.

Asoka!
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
So, Elizabeth of Carthage...I don't think I would have opened with Carthage, mainly because I am unsure about non-exp cothons (looking foward to seeing them here), but I love the leader pick.

Thanks. I opened civ because I was more set on Carthage than I was on leader. I would've been happy with any of the Sury/Lizzie/Izzy/Zara crew, so I figured I'll just take Carthage. I do wonder if it would've made it through the first round or not. If I would've been positive it would've made it, I probably would have taken Sury and then Carthage in the second round. Overall though, I'm happy with my combo. I also like the fact that I can get a fast 6/0/3 tile with Fishing + FIN in the capital which is pretty shiny.
So, other picks have happened since I locked down Lizzie of Carthage. Ruff picked England. That's another Fishing/Mining civ, and another solid pick. I do wonder if he considered Portugal or Rome which both would've been interesting choices, but I don't have a problem with England and considered it myself.
Ichabod took De Gaulle, which didn't surprise me, but I still like the pick. If you're going to go India, might as well grab De Gaulle, he's a lock for Stonehenge of course, and from there he'll have his pick of wonders, with fast workers to act as a mild amplifier for his IND trait. I'm not crazy about India I guess, but if you're going to take India this was a fine pairing. Fast workers are better on quick speed anyways, and we're on normal here. Overall a little surprised at the lack of FIN here. Sury makes sense, and De Gaulle for India I guess is fine since you can't choose FIN there. Overall though I think everybody has picked pretty well. My least favorite pick is Isabella at #3, and even that pick I think is fine, so it's "least favorite" only in the sense that I liked the other picks better. I just think EXP is inferior to FIN and ORG here (could very well be wrong, just my guess from map description), and SPI is nerfed a tiny bit by the fact that we're playing normal. Still, Isabella is always always good, so you can't complain too much. Regoarrarr I bet will take Portugal or Rome. Pindicator will take something with Agriculture, so that probably means something out of Egypt/Sumeria/China. China actually seems like a good bet. Yeesh, if Pindicator walks out of this draft with Victoria of China with the 5th & 10th pick and first in the turn order.... Well then nicely done.
Trying to make a sandbox and I cannot for the life of me re-create that stupid river curve. Reason # 5,000 I hate sandboxing.
My start for reference:
I'm playing around with a few starts, and I think my best bet is actually going to be to settle on that plains forest hill by the fish, open worker/bw first, chop the WB to completion while growing to sz2. I'd also ignore AH in favor of getting BW, Agri, and Pottery, and mine the sheep with the worker. Then chop another forest (after finishing the sheep mine) for a fast second city that will use the wet rice. It all feels really weird, but it seems much better than the other things I'm toying with. I definitely like being able to delay AH here and maybe get some early FIN cottages down. The downside is the pasture (3/2/3) is pretty great for FIN and definitely better than the 1/4/1 sheep mine....
