[SPOILERS] Dazed and Whosit walk the line: Darius of Egypt

You mentioned getting a city down on T25, but going Worker > Warrior > Worker > Warrior > Warrior > Settler (which I thought you mentioned), I didn't even get the Settler out until T26. What exactly did you do? Also, remember to add that free cottage in the sandbox.

you're right. that order is a T27 city (sandbox). T25 city is without the last warrior (sandbox). Which is probably much better. City 2 turns faster is better than warrior 2 turns faster.

Assuming we did settle on the hill by the crab, we would have exactly one turn in which to revolt into slavery without delaying the settler and before city #2 is founded. I'm gonna play around with how much faster we could get city 2, but with three strong tiles, my gut says get them worked ASAP. I think we could do it faster without the second worker but we wouldn't have the roads in place to make city #2 happen efficiently and I don't think we'd have BW online yet. I'll check

I had to work the river cottage one turn to get BW one turn earlier to chop the settler out earlier in the T25 sandbox.

On one of my plays I worked the cottage a few turns and still didn't get BW in time, so I'm not sure what I did wonky. Unless you skipped AH for some reason?

okay by way of comparison, here's what i got if we went straight to settler instead of worker 2. City is founded on T22. We had to go fishing sooner so that City2 could work the crab. Now, if there's another resource in the fog, we might be able to skip that. Because if we do go fishing sooner, we don't have BW until EoT25. But we do have more turns put into the city and worker 2 is one turn from finishing in the capital. I'm not counting beakers so I'm not sure if we come out ahead on that or not. Working the fish tile (3 commerce) makes it seem likely.

So to any of those lurking, we are currently considering the unusual choice of Fishing before Bronze Working. We'd have our second city founded several turns before revolting to Slavery.

Whats the pros and cons of doing that in your opinion?

I have been working on two sims in our sandbox. Going BW leaves our second city (presumably 1 NE of the crab) unable to work the crab which, at 3/0/3, is by far the best tile we know of. Of course, it could be a moot point if there is another resource in the fog. Also, if we try to get BW before the second city is settled we have to delay the settler to make that happen. I haven't given up on the idea of waiting on fishing till after BW but i haven't been able to come up with a sim based on our current knowledge that gets things in a better position by T30. You are, of course, welcome to contribute if you have any ideas Serdoa!

In other words, we're contemplating this:

Hunting->AH->Mining->Fishing->BW->Pottery

Worker->Warrior->Settler->Warrior->Worker

May I be your ded-lurker? Otherwise I fear it would be unfair to give you advice.
