The reason we typically cap Codenames at 5 is the same as for Civ PBEMs, it gets slower the more people you have to wait on to cycle each turn. Up to this game's participants if you want to stretch that. (This isn't a signup for myself.)

BANKs are a good place to keep your gold
Barry GoldWATER is a well known senator and presidential candidate
NOTEs and BUCKs are types of currency, which used to be based on gold
Gold is a good CONDUCTOR, and is used in circuitry and connectors sometimes

Is Goldwater such ancient history that no one but me would think of him?
It seems like a note is the opposite of gold: paper money vs. minted coins

I'm firm on LEPRECHAUN and BANK, but the last two are up in the air.

So my initial reaction is that Bank is the safest option by far, followed by Leprechaun. Bank I think is obvious, but Leprechaun strikes me as second best because if he was try‌ing to avoid Leprechaun but hit on some of these other words, there are better clue options.

For the other two spots, I'm left with Buck, Note, and Luck. Buck due to it being slang for dollar (possibly US-only slang?) would be my next guess. Luck is often associated loosely with gold, and Note can be a Bank Note, though I don't feel great about either of those two.
