Mig is the best. I take this as "please don't be an idiot again"!!! No offense! I would probably be slightly above average if I didn't make a couple stupid mistakes every game. PB54 the whole I could have had an axe to defend vs SD warrior rush thing and then unloading my HAs on wrong tile to raze Gira old cap from you are both excellent examples of I made really fast decisions that were really stupid.
He definitely has more than I thought. He finally learned how to whip it seems (I really do wish he had for PB52). I might wait for Vanguard stack. Now to note a CR2 praet gets 62.9% on top defender currently which is the bloody archer again, but I don't know if I trust that to actually be his best defender anymore...... I theorectically have enough to take it with the promos (which he doesn't know about per se). He also put himself in a bit of an awkward situation.
Situation. Now to note the HAs will be the last defenders so it is very possible I can get my spears to go vs them. I'll probably just wait for the Vanguard stack unless you think otherwise. I don't see any reason not to other than my chariots being able to then raze Bibracte (good sign that even though his posting speed hasn't changed he didn't rename). Also, he moved a worker to forest there this turn...... Point being he may retreat the HAs. Which is probably another reason to make the attempt next turn is that I could kill 3 HAs.

I distributed the GG among 9 units so my injured survivor of first assault would get 3 exp to get it a promo if needed (will keep option open for Morale). Took your advice and did make a medic chariot. Promo's are not an area I have a ton of experience in so thank you for advice. In single player I kind of just always went simple.
Actually put a galley in queue at Arp. I might peace out with Van after Lemon and razing Bibactre / Lingon (why in the world didn't he do?) for some gold. Can go liberate ruff from this game or if Van stays at war can put some pressure on old ruff capital without telegraphing the movement.
Noble has WAY too much free time. He logged in after you did to re-offer open borders. Now I don't have a route to him defogged yet, so I countered for 2gpt from him. I'm bad at trade math, so had no clue what was fair. I know its worth at least 1gpt to my island. I have to imagine his other slots are filled, but maybe not. Once I do get a route defogged I'll make gold as well. I'll probably B-line there if he accepts as he probably has 2 islands. I was mainly searching for Laz on the outer ring, who actually has 8 cities surprisingly. Gira just took 2 cities off of Jowy fyi. Will be interesting to see if Civac piles on.

To tell the player that is the most sacred duty of the dedlurker, without doubt. But it's not what I was thinking here. With my lesser knowledge of the details I feel like I would have played the attack differently, but this attack being hard is a function of us attacking top rival power Pro Celts. Expected. And as I said, we might still succeed
Fwiw I'm not quite happy with my performance here. Should have discussed more strategic options, like waiting for constru / currency, when we had no good targets. Not saying that the path we took could not still be the best one, but I think I should encourage more rethinking of plans.
I logged in and I think that I do support storming Lemon this turn. Send chariots after Bribacte if you can. Vanguard stack is probably well positioned on that hill, if the other guys manage Lemon.
Queue a praet in Cumae.
Btw I read in your comments post PB54 that you thought you could have burnt gira's capital, and I wanted to pick that up at some point. How much did you have, and which turn do you mean exactly? I'm pretty sure that at least once the borders popped, I was pretty safe from at least 2 galleys full of HAs/phants, with cataphracts that I held by the Russian copper (S of the cap)
The peace offer for 100 gold was actually because you were in range to boat an undefended silver iceball, which I figured was worth about that. Saw later in the thread that you had not defogged it yet, so probably worth nothing. Also still puzzled about that one:

I just wish Van had opened borders so we could go after Cairo lol. My economy was sooo bad I don't think waiting for construction was an option. What I should have done was a 3rd rd of praet whips. I got soft on my people and should have broken their backs harder. Fell into the classic didn't whip hard enough when attacking and opponent whipped to the ground.
If we aren't' storming Lemon this turn won't we need the Vanguard stack to force through next then? The great thing about being aggressive Rome is not worrying about a counterattack I've come to realize. We could move some spears onto the hill and keep the axes there and just move the praets down if you think that is enough.
PB54:
IF I had staged on the correct tile and you hadn't seen it you forget I was India !!! I could have roaded over the hill while it still hadn't popped borders and you would have had 0 warning. For some reason you weren't garrisoning the cities initially so I maybe could have gotten the city still in revolt as well. 3 turns after you saw the HAs basically was timeline (drop HAs off, drop workers off, road, road). I should have dropped the workers off first to speed it up, but I didn't have them in position to load into the galley (normal noobness compounded by not spending a ton of time on the game).
SO I had promised El Girllo I would war with you (and meant it; planning said above strike). You then discovered it, but I still wanted to go to war to give the impression I was keeping that promise (and maybe pillage some nets). Basically that diplo message was "I'll peace out in a couple of turns". I included the war with everyone else part so you wouldn't accidentally accept. You then offered me gold I desperately needed so I peaced out immediately lol. At that point I thought I needed every unit I had in case of attack on my shores.

To avoid a misunderstanding, I am in favour of going in on lemon this turn. Meaning that the vanguard stack would not be able to help, so it is better positioned on the hill.
PB54 after I saw your initial drop off of 2 HAs I was checking that coast pretty paranoically. Fri you mean I should never have seen those?
You're probably right that I didn't factor in India.
Never planned to attack you fwiw, the plan was Spain->Mongolia (vanrober, recurring theme... if it lifts you up he did not defend without flaws there either)

ITS HAPPENING AGAIN!!!
CR2 praet vs first archer 59.6% odds - loss.
A shock CR1 praet only gets 34.8%..... I DONT understand how odds work anymore.......

Short report: It got better after that. I said screw it threw away a praet and then finally hit axes at mid 60% to low 70% odds (which I had expected to last time). AND WON EVERY FIGHT FROM THEN ON!!!! Lost 2 praets, killed 6 axes, 3 HA and 1 archer (damn that archer).
EDIT: did lose 1 chariot razing Bibactre then moved some chariots stupidly PHAH, its 12:30 am and I just spend 1.5 hrs snow blowing.
EDIT EDIT: what am I doing with next GG. I really don't like any of my cities for HE.
Also, can we just restart this game without Noble..... I have a magic related antidote for later, but he just got GLH and MOM this turn. I mean we can keep playing for the next 50 turns, but having a shark sharking it up is just meh.

only if i get to play from his starting position.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. ![[Image: noidea.gif]](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif) In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I disagree with your complaints about Noble. No reason to single him(?) out. Civac and mackoti are also playing in this game, they're arguably as good and experienced as or even more so than Noble.

wait did the CR2 praet lose flawlessly? Then it would make sense that shock CR1 gets worse odds.
Also, what happened afterwards? I'm seeing on PBspy that it can't be that bad (noscore would have kept the suspense )
