Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoilers] Pindicator's Nice Thread

He shouldn't be able to take Ur as he only has one kt nearby, and there are two maces in the city. But yep, the Longbow and Pike are landed SE of Ur.

I'll keep two units in the city and move the others towards Uruk next turn.

Awesome!

I'll be starting the drive about 14 hours from this post (and if all goes well we should be in Whitehorse, Yukon by the end of tomorrow). I feel like you have a good enough handle of the strategy to play without me peeking over your shoulder, but if you have any questions I'll try to check in when i can. Not expecting much for coverage the next few days.

Based on PBSpy, Commodore took two cities, and razed one. Probably razed the size 7 border one that shares food.

I'm not going to log in until Bing's played though.

Two turns one day. This is a weird feeling. Imagine we'll have to pause for Nauf tho.

MS declared on Bing. I sent the CA there, but can't see anything yet, not at the border with old SD territory though. I poked down in the old Mig area with the worker but couldn't see any more nauf-MS fireworks there.

We circumnavigated the globe? I assumed that had already happened. Must be because we traded maps with Commodore.

You can also see Comm's stack. He razed the southern, not the northern one. I was inclined to that from the timing of PBSpy, but just felt it odd from a city quality POV. Likely more about defensives though.

He resettled one of the cities. But I still think the settler is worthwhile so continued it - we may end up auto-razing that, or it could come in useful for a different reason. Everything pulled out except the most nominal - one defender each in Uruk and Mediolanum.

Pin, what are your thoughts re splitting with MS, if he brings units here? What will you allow / not allow? I will pause if I think you'd be interested in declaring war, as that's obviously not a call I can make.

Edit: Oh right, I had another question. Commodore has pulled back quite a few units from his border cities. Helles, the size 2 city to the east (not pictured) is also empty, even though it is two tiles from your border. Does this change your instructions re garrisons of former Gav lands? Currently there are 2 permanent medieval, 5 classical units in Transformers, 1 permanent medieval, and 5 classical units in Care bears. Is that too much?

Tech screen, as promised:

We are hitting the road, so not much to go on. If it gets crazy just ask for a pause.

I guess with MS watch the power graphs and watch how his war with Nauf is going. If he is just razing some indefensible cities then that's bound to happen

Slipped in a turn before work, hopefully not late for that! Bing emptied Med, and left only an axe in Uruk. Took both, losing one knight to the axe. Took another former SD city using a kt. Bing only has three cities left in the north, threatening two of them with knights. The other one is the one size one which will almost certainly be burned.

Bing is pulling almost all units out of the North. Argument to hold back actually to allow his pikes to leave. But I think more importantly to take quickly.

I split the slow mover stack, leaving half in Med and rotating the rest west. Wondering if actually I should pull all the cats west, and use the reserve stack near Care Bears for any response.

MS and Naufragars power is much higher than the rest of us. Makes me worry about the Western possessions if they ever take peace. MS hasn't moved any units towards the Bing front, at least the SD side of it.

GS appeared. Saving as requested. Pin, should I fire the specialists at the capital?

Gunpowder in this turn.

Just getting back into civilisation after diving through the mountains all day, coming up on Fort Nelson, British Columbia.

I think yes to rotating the catapults.

Do not fire the Golden Age yet. But keep the specialists going for now. Maybe swap the artists for merchants though

Edit: Sounds like you are doing a great job with the war. I think you are exactly right to worry about MS after. So we'll have to get to Rifles ... or Galleons ... to dissuade him.

After Gunpowder let's set tech to Education but save gold. I think that gives the most flexibility, and there's a chance I might go for Liberalism next

Has Liberalism not been taken?

No, if you check F4 or F6 you should see nobody has Philosophy or Education yet
