Turns 98 & 99
Someone got a GP on T98, but I don't know who -- possibly Elum, as he has the Henge.
The person with the massive GNP? Cheater Hater. I don't know how he's doing it (he only has 1 more city than we do), but his GNP was ridiculously high. If you get a chance, log in and look at the graphs. In most situations Whosit, Elum, and us are all roughly equivalent, but CH is way ahead of all of us in GNP at max, which is really surprising considering our GLH and offshore cities, as well. He's also got a crap-ton of power.
I whipped the monument in Musashi, as it had grown to size 4 and I want to get culture going on our border with Elum. At size 3 it can still work the gold. Next up is a spear -- I want to get one down to the Whosit border city (which will get built next turn) so that we have an axe and a spear there.
We'll have to drop the slider next turn (or switch to more wealth builds)...especially with a new city going down in order to finish CoL.

I think you'll be able to reduce the slider and still get CoL in 2 turns.
Does CH want to trade maps? I saw his graphs and his success is due to the fact that he has 19% of world pop. He's just working more tiles.
Also, the PM you sent was generally good, except the fact where you said what our scouting chariot was doing. You're not supposed to communicate about our in game intentions either, even though I know you were doing so in an innocent way.

More spur-of-the-moment thoughts: We're going to be in for a round of whips/chops for CHs once CoL comes in. Tirpitz was almost 6gpt in maintenance when I last checked, that city needs a CH pronto.

Yeah, most of our outlying cities are 4+ gpt maintenance and courthouses will REALLY help with that.
As far as the message, sorry, didn't actually think it would harm anything since I was only talking about that specific circumstance, but I'll remember that for next time.

I don't know if Elum responded to you, but it looks like he misunderstood the game state and apologized for the double-move in his thread. So, there's that. Since you didn't want a reload, is this matter settled?

Yep, thanks GJ. He did reply directly to me, apologized, and offered to compensate me somehow if I felt it appropriate, but I do believe it was an honest mistake so I don't have any issues with it. So long as he's aware of what happened, I'm happy.

Turn 101
Big excitement this turn -- our newest city, Akagi, was founded:
The Akagi was the first of the Japanese navy's large "fleet" carriers. It was one of the six that were involved in the surprise attack against Pearl Harbor, and performed some service in the south-east Asian theater, as well. During the Battle of Midway she was struck by a bomb from a dive bomber while her planes were being rearmed for an attack against the American carriers. The bomb caused a number of secondary explosions and fires to break out. Due to damage, they were unable to flood the aft magazine and the main water pump was damaged as well, hindering fire-fighting efforts. Though damage control fought through the night to save her, they were unable to do so, and she was abandoned and scuttled the next day.
I borrowed the fish from Yorktown to grow to size 2 so we can whip the monument fast; Yorktown is building a granary and will finish it the same turn Akagi grows to size 2.
I also switched Yamato to a wealth build (as it has several turns before growing, unlike Big E) to compensate for the additional maintenance so we can get CoL next turn while still running 90% science. We can switch builds back next turn, and I think more settlers so we can settle to the east and get those coastal spots. Elum has some troops sitting over there and I suspect he may want to expand south from where he is up north.

Very cool. I can't remember the formula, but there's a decent chance that Confucianism will land in Akagi, which will both eliminate the need for a monument there and make it a very annoying city to whosit.
What do you want to do with tech going forward?

I think (and I could be totally wrong here), the formula is that it goes into the most populous non-capital city that doesn't already have religion. So in that case, it would be a toss up between Yamato and Nevada.
For tech, I dunno. I'm leaning towards IW because I want to put a city down by the elephants and get them online for the happiness boost. +1 pop!

Turn 102
First off, I forgot to check the event log last turn, and I saw this:
Both the Hanging Gardens and Pyramids came in last turn. I think Agent & Whosit got them (though I don't know who got which as I didn't check demos before/after) based on score.
But we got Confucianism! And it landed in...
Actually not a bad location for it. Not ideal, but not bad. It's interior, so it's a better-protected city, and it's got good production to generate missionaries. Speaking of which, where do we want to send the free missionary?
I think either Lex or Yorktown, given that they have the worst border problems right now, and the extra culture will help.
Big E finished its worker and started on a Settler. Yamato switched off wealth and started building a Courthouse (4 turns), which will save us over 2gpt in maintenance. Bismarck switched off wealth and I set it to build 2 chariots and then a courthouse, because we still need some more units. Axe is almost to Akagi for defense (though it has the warrior there in the forest for emergencies). Settler is in place to build the elephant city next turn.
We went to 0% to build cash, but we have a ton of overflow beakers (~110) so I didn't want to end turn until I was sure what we want our next tech to be. I set it to IW, but I could see the value in Construction or Metal Casting as well. Thoughts?
