More golden age fun!
That's the Commodore trademarked "hire a crapload of GPs but only starve 1 pop" move
which led to
The SevenSpirits trademarked "2 GPs born on the same turn" move.
I had a GP born for 467 GPP in my capital, and then the city above got the GP at the 536 mark on the same turn. 2 scientists though, when I'd have preferred a bit of variety. I still have one prophet hanging about, and I may actually be able to get 2-3 more GPs in this golden age. I need one more non-prophet/scientist for my 3-man GA, and then of course 3 more GPs after that for the 4-man.
For the record, the scientists will tech Biology

In a rare diplo correspondence, at least one posted to the thread, Pindicator sent me this
Quote:Hey Rego,
I've been thinking about our last conversation and I wanted to reiterate that I'm entirely committed to helping you take down Gaspadore when you choose to attack. I don't think this is a great "strategic" decision on my part, because you are obviously going to get a large part of the spoils in any division of Gaspadore land. But I also remember what you said before about this game and about our alliance: that you would like to see us be able to duke it out at a relatively even position. I think fighting Gaspadore puts us solidly on that path. A lot of my production advantage is going to dissolve with Sci Meth (i don't recall my exact monestary count but it is around 20), and you will grab a good chunk of gaspadore's lands to help bolster yours.
We both know Gaspadore is trying to get us to fight while he techs away, which is what we both would be trying to do in his position. But you're going to be the eventual winner there when you grab Sian's old core and most of his lands. I'm looking forward to coordinating the war against Gaspadore with you and showing some serious fireworks. Speaking of which, when do you want to start talking about details of invasion? I've been thinking I'll primarily focus on naval forces in this war: wipe out his navy and clear the path for invading with drafted units, but I'm open to changing that if you would want to coordinate otherwise.
This may be counting our chickens before they hatch, but we can also set down a cooldown procedure for when we eliminate Gaspadore & Yuri. I'm open to also racing for space, but it would be fun to try some modern warfare as well.
Keep fighting; this game is far from decided.

I had talked to him briefly the other day about how Gasp was trying to make me fight him (pindicator), by painting him as a runaway. We didn't really get a chance to talk then, hence the email.
I replied
Quote:Quick note as you're not online currently but I'm for the most part in agreement. As long as we can come up with an arrangement to make the division of Yuri / Gasp's lands roughly fair, I'm in.
Sure I may grab a good chunk of Gasp's lands, but it's also conceivable that you get the majority of his more established and developed lands while I make do with war-ravaged Cartoonia. So as long as we have a plan to figure out a good division, that's good. Plus I have to deal with the fact that Gasp may decide to "take it out" on me because, by fighting him, I have been the proverbial "last to screw him".
Let's chat tomorrow
Your Mom.

Hmm actually I wonder if an Academy in the capital would be a good idea, or has its time come and gone.....
Currently worth about ~30bpt at breakeven science.

Probably comes out ahead of bulbing, but not ahead of GAs.

So I currently have
25 Janissaries
20 Galleons
11 Frigates
22 Airships
Not enough for a full attack maybe, but I'm having trouble because I feel like all of those things are about to go obsolete (rifles, destroyers and transports). So I don't know what to build.
Airships will still be around for awhile, but 22 is a decent number, since their damage is capped.

So build econ buildings? Don't go wasting hammers to waste 'em, and I don't think we can invade anyone with a piddling force like that.

Yeah. I will have RP next turn and then I can choose between Rifling (to swap back to some turns of Nationhood) or up to Combustion (Steam / RR / Combustion). Want them both of course but can pick which one first.
The advantage of Rifles first is that then I can build / draft them while teching up to Combustion.
So econ buildings - what's your priority
Bank-> Observatory -> Intelligence Agency
Something like that?

He has more food, more prod, more land, a higher land count and a higher score?
I am up about 7-8K beakers on him, but he is making about 1300bpt breakeven now out of his golden age while I'm barely over 1000 IN a golden age.
Not sure what happened there.
When war is declared that may help some as he's getting a lot from trade routes (in Free Market and with Corporation) while I have neither of those things.
Similarly when he techs Scientific Method he will expire all his monasteries, which provide 2h and 2g per (estimate of about 20 of those).
