Alright, prediction entries are now closed for Game Six. Hope that your respective picks ended up doing well in this one. We'll tally the results and post them sometime over the weekend. For now, enjoy the results from this game.

Hah, I was curious why none of the maps had any islands. What's the rationale for deleting them? Quote:A large wildcard game with all of the surviving leaders who couldn't crack the top two positions in their respective matches would probably be too much fun to pass up. AI is bad with boats?
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!
The AI stinks at anything involving ships or amphibious attacks. Who wants to see a leader survive with a single city left on a 2 tile island because the other AIs are too dumb to coordinate a proper invasion? The idea of the "Survivor" game is that no one is safe. The AIs can always reach each other (well in most cases, anyway). They each have to stand on their own two feet.
After those war decs, I'm starting to think that the civs I pick to win are actively trolling me...

I would assume that with their insanely huge Deity armies they wouldn't have too much trouble taking some small islands, but with what I've seen so far it would kind of be a minor miracle if they can even settle islands

Usually there's a very long delay before the AI gets around to building transport ships, and they always seem to go by the rule of 1 ship stack = 1 city. So if a weak enemy is spread out over multiple islands, they'll land troops on one island, easily take the cities on it, then the troops will just sit there while the transports meander off. The AI eventually gets around to building a second transport stack to attack a second island, though often during the time in between they will have made peace. Worst of all is when two transport stacks converge on one island when the enemy is spread over two islands, letting them hold out even longer. |
