Magic's former Maoi city bordering super has culture problems. It's up against a 60% city with TGL, only has the right half of the outer ring to work with (shared with Cuzco). I can get enough tiles to sustain size7, but that's it until I steal some back. So it will run an artist-ball and starve down a bit from 10 (can't whip the pop off, still in Caste)

Charriu is down to 1 mainland city (his Maoi one - eternal flame or whatever it's named). I could take it, given a couple turns to rest my battered army. My poor Praets marched straight from the fight with Charriu to Magic, and still hasn't stopped to rest. Shallow is moving about 15 knights that way as well, and appears to be out of siege just like me.

Super got Taj a couple turns ago. Shallow is just finishing up nationalism.
I finish NE at the flip (finally). Priest in 10t or so, NE-powered artist should be right behind it (bordering shallow as well, so the culture is useful). Have my GSpy out snooping around in dark corners. Need one more.

I've been dumping EPs purely on shallow for several turns, i have visibility on half his cities now. Shallow has more knights somewhere, but only a few are near me (he should have about 40 total). I've got a couple sentries filling in the inter-city gaps in visibility. We re-agreed to cow-cow, so I should be secure-ish from him for a bit.

Not really.

I'm fairly stalled. The obvious target is shallow, but he has 60 knights that I can see. (Granted, that should be most of them, I've got EP visibility on all his cities, plus a GSpy snooping around).
I've got 20 knights, and the same in praets. Having defenders pinned all over my north coast because of Magic's galleons isn't helping any.

With shallow's stacks lurking around my border, I can't even go kill Charriu, can't risk getting caught in his culture, even for a turn.

Gunpowder is in. GPriest is in. Artist soon, but I still need a 4th.
3t to Paper. Education is a whopping 18t after that unless I want to builder gamble, which doesn't seem wise at all.

Shallow sniped a worker of mine (which was building a road adjacent to one of his cities) and offered peace.

I cancelled, looked around, reoffered, he accepted, which means I have 10t to deal with Charriu.

Charriu pushed about 10 units out of his city threatening one of mine.
Counts as a threat to me. We didn't have a NAP either.
I declared on Charriu and pushed my stack in, with half my knights reserved in a position to either stop his little stack if it doesn't turn around, or join my forces next turn.

Charriu is gone.
Thought about delaying my turn until Christmas was over, so as not to give the gift of Elimination.

Siege did the work, stack just cleaned up. Lost 2 trebs, 11 cats, 1 Praet.

Hey Elkad. Great game so far. I hope you don't mind if I address a few things about me and Coeurva in the beginning. I really feel sorry about how the whole thing developed, but if you don't want it here in his former thread I can just post it in the lurker thread.

Thanks Elkad. So what I just wanted to say is that I'm really sorry that it came down to you, Coeurva, leaving the game. I don't want to spoil any game relevant stuff here and you can all read it in my thread later, but rest assured that I did not act out of anger, madness or rage. I just felt threaten at the time and was and am still unexperienced in many aspects of MP.
I've read all of what you said and I still think highly of you. You are certainly a better player then me and although you consider your performance in PB37 bad, I would have loved to have a first MP game like yours. I know that you wrote all of this out of anger and I don't blame you. I can only imagine the pressure you felt and let me say that I don't hold any word of yours against you. After all it's just a game in which we all invest more time then it's sometimes good for us.
I also saw that you were angered by PM to you. I'm sorry for that, too. I know how hard it can be to juggle real life and playing your turn, so at the time I just wanted to ease your schedule.
From your profile I see that you logged in last time in August, when you were leaving. I still hope that you will return to this forum and maybe continue to play, as you are a great civ player. If anybody still has contact to Coeurva, please tell him that I feel sorry about how this turned out to be and I would love to see him here again.
