Crash - seems obv
Parachute - seems obv
Bomb - airplanes are frequently associated with terrorist plots, and several jetliners have been downed by bombs
Skycraper+New York - speaking of terrorists...
Wake - planes leave a wake and other planes have to be cognizant of their paths accordingly
Pan - Dave's usually willing to go a little further back in time with his clues, and Pan Am was a famous airline in the middle part of the 20th century
Club - frequent flyers get access to lounges often called ___Club
Time - planes fly on timetables and commercial flights focus on on-time statistics

I think the first two are obvious, feel free to point to those pindicator

WAKE - turbulence?
CIRCLE - planes do plenty of this while they wait to land
PARACHUTE - seems like a good fit
Oh, this is CRASH + SKYSCRAPER + NEW YORK, isn't it? Well, wouldn't we have something more specific to 9/11 in that case? So perhaps not
BOMB - seems along the same veins but more similar.

I guess I go with PARACHUTE, CRASH, CIRCLE, and BOMB in that order, unless people think the 9/11 combo is what he's aiming for

@pindicator - this is a four player game, so you're good to go to point to consensus picks if you're the third person to weigh in. We all had parachute and crash in our top three so don't feel obligated to wait for a second round of responses for items like that

It’s auto-pass since no clues words remaining, right?

No it isn't.

Clanging. That's the noise made by striking together metallic objects. Are there other definitions?

RACKET is a given.
Also PAN, in the sense of banging on pots and pans.

After that:
Could a RING tone be described as clanging?
What about striking the LINKs on a metal chain?
You could describe the music at a CLUB or JAM as clanging.

I don't have a strong view after the first two.

Okay, let's see. I agree with Azoth that RACKET and PAN are our best bets.

Then I'd probably go JAM for the music association.

We should probably keep on guessing if we get our first three words right. Of the remaining words, RING is the least dangerous imo.

  • If you are making a RACKET, that would include Clanging.  (strong)
  • A bell making a RINGing sound would be Clanging.  (strong)
  • Clanging is also the sort of sound pots and PANs would make.  (strong)
  • Clanging is a type of POUNDing.  (moderate)
  • If it does that, it's indicating the passage of TIME.  (moderate)
  • The clanging of the Wall Street bell happens in NEW YORK.  (weak)
  • Clanging of bells would also happen with old cathedrals, like they have in FRANCE.  (weak)
  • If the passage of time is happening, perhaps it's time to WAKE up.  (weak)
