I went ahead and invaded Ramk, playing it extremely risky, hoping that MJMD starts pushing up in order to divert some forces.

My logic was this:
If I don't go all-in on Ramk, I have no other expansion opportunities.
If I don't go all-in on Ramk now, Laz and I will intensify our cold war instead of him going after Charriu.
If I don't invade now, MJMD might sign peace.

Here's what transpired on the first turn of the invasion. I went all-in on Ramk's stack. Now, I was not getting very favorable odds here, but I poured libations of wine to satisfy the RNGods, and it really paid off.

185 hammers in my favor in this combat, along with a critical great general generated, and Ramk's great general killed.

However, there's a decent amount of units threatening me, strewn out on the grassland guarding the approach to Kalahari. However, without a road, only a few of those units can hit my stack. And even in an attack, I expect Ramk to lose a decent amount of units. More importantly, if he does go all in (which he has to if he wants to kill the 15 units I have in there), he leaves my catapult stack with warelephants, xbows, and a few keshiks and axes free to move towards his coastal city. That means he has to keep his 3spear 5 cat stack positioned in a way that keeps my secondary stack on the hill.

The other thing is that I've eliminated most of the spears. combat 2 shock keshiks, even wounded, will get decent odds against shitty axes.

Guilds in two turns. I'm obviously behind in tech, but not *that* behind. I should be able to make it to astro + GP in a relatively timely fashion.

The other option I had was to wait to attack Ramk, and upgrade the keshiks into knights. But the option was expensive, and I don't want to set back an already slow tech rate.

Very middle-of-the-pack here.

Laz had an excellent golden age, which ended this turn.

Charriu is actually catching up, Ramk is really in the trenches here.

My power spike will probably go down a bit next turn when I log in. But so will Ramk's, and hopefully that makes MJMD act. And once we partition Ramk, I'll be on top, with knights ready to sweep the woefully outdated MJMD.

Some bookkeeping things:

Still need to settle the horse/jungle city.

I've been ignoring some cities that could've had grassland cottages, letting them work naval tiles instead. Huge mistake on my part, but not too late to build a few cottages. A workshop or two might not hurt either.

Playing against ramk is very frustrating, hes a tenacious defender and does not give up.

The circunnavigation bonnus is applied the next turn of getting optics. But there is a bug and when someone of the game gets optics its sent you can circunavigate to the rest, i think.
