We are the only civ who went for workboat first. However this is the point when we really go off the beaten path.
The border landmass looks interesting. Possible layout:
Three rings with 2 players each, with either one or two land connections to other rings.

I will observe your start very closely in my T50 report. Love every little bit of this unusal setup.

I forgot about this screen, it confirms some of my speculation:
Rome settled on T0 and might have gone for the WB start. Maybe max hammers at size 2 and then into a worker?

I think the land he's got to the east, I have to the west.

Trading Post done, now a quick warrior while we grow to 5:
Three civs have a size 3 city already. I think that is from the food boost from settling on sugar.
Our scout got past Rome before its border expansion, so now it can circle back to get some info on where to settle our 3rd city. There's no early circumnavigation in this CTH version.
We also got trade connection to Rome. He has a Silver where we have Gold, so an early trade would help us both.

There's a second source 3N1W of the sugar, you can see it in this earlier screenshot:

Both have a second one on the desert hill:
I did have to go re-check on whether my morning brain was on crack

Size 5 yo:
Someone else is already at size 4. I should have tested settling on sugar, it seems to be the best opening. Not as fun as this, but it's even less fun to play from behind.
