[PB90] naufragar's Ottomen don't have a leg to stand on.

Can confirm not 4 min worth of reading. Listened to the whole song anyways and am currently listening to some of her other stuff.

I'm glad! No song today, but actual turn report information instead:

Deity, Small map with few resources and river tiles? Hopefully the picture changes, or my Imp trait looks really, really bad. 11 out of the 18 leaders are Fin or Org. I'm going to be feeling the lack of both of those traits. I just have to trust that the map has been balanced. Rob and Ziankali spent several months on it, so I hope they figured something out. Not sure what can compensate for being one of the few without Fin or Org, but I have to believe.  please

Edit: I talked a little about resources back in my PB88 thread, which was a deity huge map, but I guess I should clarify what I'm talking about here. On resource poor maps with high costs, Fin and Org are even better than they already are (and some people think Fin at least is broken from the start). If Fin is giving you, oh idk, +10 gold on an empire making 30 gold, that's a 30% increase, compared to Fin giving you +10 gold on an empire making 60 gold. Fin is still great, but on a rich map, that bonus is less of a player's total income, which means other combos can still have an economy. Likewise with Deity/Small costs and Org. Org is going to be providing a large amount of economic power. If there aren't other sources of economy (rivers, commerce resource tiles) then the benefit of Org is comparatively greater. Imperialistic, by contrast, is horrible if you don't want to put a lot of hammers into settlers because the land it weak.

Therefore: I'm hoping that Rob and Ziankali thought of this and I'm going to find rich land either further down the coast or just inland. (Otherwise, I've lost.)
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

cry No. frown All of the leaders were chosen by the map makers. (For example, there are no Creative leaders in the game.)

I've been busy, but this turn needs a report. Edit: This works better when I include the screenshot.

There are a couple of metal luxuries on the north coast. Much more importantly, it looks like I've found Miguelito's Incans. I deeply regret going for the galley first. The land outside the island is absolutely not worth rushing for.

I'm also not particularly looking forward to facing Ind/Fin Miguelito/Rusten.

Haven't seen the map so I'm not spoilered. Don't write off the land outside the island. You've only seen the coastline to and even that is more green then your island

You both are right. It's a little too early for doom and gloom. After all, I have found two early luxuries:

I've turned the boat around. There's an argument for contacting Miguelito and starting my EP spending on him, but I don't want to do that just yet. It's possible that the silver is meant to be his and the gems are meant to be mine. I'd like to settle on that tundra soon, but Animal Husbandry is a long way off. I also won't be able to win any culture clashes with Mig/Rusten. They are Inca, so they have no need for Mysticism and Monuments. Oof.

In the wider world, Flunky (Cyrus) settled his first city, some 13 turns before I will. GT (Genghis Khan) whipped away 1 population point, so he might be founding a city soon, too.

We land our first brave explorers on foreign shores:

The wolf will only give us 1xp. It shouldn't hurt us too bad. We'll have Bronze Working before we settle our second city, so I'm hoping there's Copper in this area. The ice is very interesting. I'd bet there's another team on other side of the ice. (Food for thought: we can construct a canal with forts on the two southernmost tiles.)
