Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

ok, so it sounds like the answer is something along the lines of "it is so rare to take them in the course of normal gameplay that people can name individual instances of it happening", yes? wink

i would like to hunbly request a dl/internet bestie as well as i am dumb as hell and have also never played this game before. but interested parties should prioritize rickety over me as my levels of "give a damn if i am messily devoured" are also pretty low

on the other hand, williams, if you're reading this it WOULD be pretty funny for two total civ4 noobs to try to figure this game out together :eyes:

Well, since I just happened to be passing by... why the heck not?

I'm definitely willing to dedlurk for you. I'm not new to Civ IV BTS (I win most games I play on Emperor level in singleplayer, take that as you will), but I have never played the CTH mod or closely followed any of the games using it so there will be a learning curve there.

YES ok, ugh, frightenedly confirming signup

my BTS level is similar, lately i've been grinding deity openings trying to find something winnable, but apparently civ games used to be really hard in SP?

that or my game plan of "pop both mining and bw from huts, open worker -> chopped worker -> chopped t30 stonehenge" isn't as consistent as you'd think

no real mp experience either though other than getting axe rushed to death when i was 12

anyways since every civ4 player who tries civ6 here is so immediately legendarily dominant that sulla blogs about it i'm sure we'll be fine right?

you're better off trying monarch than deity, deity games and strategies for beating the AI will lead you in an unhelpful direction for doing well in Civ 4 MP

williams if you (or anyone else) can guess the already-determined thread title (the fact that i consider it guessable by you specifically constitutes a hint) you get to pick our naming scheme

Spreadsheet work? Holy cow, you guys are serious!
To be clear: some people do this. Others play by instinct. Both are fine - there's no expectation you'll approach the game in a certain way.

I'm considered a pretty good expander and I've never used spreadsheets. I started out building sims, but then I realized I could save a lot of time by just learning food hammer math and then double checking it mentally. The other thing is just learning not to waste worker turns if it can be avoided and if you want to do a 1 worker or 2 worker opening.

Anyways, anyone want to ded lurk Rickety or Greenline so I can keep both !
