I may have to consider that strategy for my next game.
The "opponent analysis" looks pretty interesting so far - even with only one opponent looked at. If there's going to be more, I is quite interested.

The problem is, you can't PICK tokugawa of Germany, because then its still your fault
So you end up having to bribe a roller to give you a bad result, and by that time your left wondering if you should just ask for Papal of India.
Yeah the next analysis has been delayed - I've got the text ready but am waiting to be at a computer to pretty it up.

Solution! Bribe someone else to join in, pick something crappy, and then "unexpectedly bow out" before the first turn so that you can generously take your patsy's place. That way you're not only able to blame crappy selection, you're helping keep a game alive.

Hang on, is that the right pic - I think Commodore wanted to be red (I don't care about colors, just worried if there was a mistake).

It worked out better for differentiation if you guys got red and he kept the dark yellow, you'll note your the correct CIV and Leader.

Sandbox attached.
Got it looking almost the same as the screenie. Only thing thats different is the bleed of the sea/lake 2W of the scout (which I couldn't get right - we can test if its freshwater by hovering over the tile 1NW of the scout).

All fog read tiles have a hit movie on them, we have ice around to protect us from barbs.

Settings are large/monarch.
Enemies are locked away as so:
Obvious opening is to settle on the sugar, build worker while researching mining->BW.
Alternatives are the tile 1NW to settle next to the sea (if it is sea) and whatever we uncover T1.
Fake edit: Gah, had it one epic speed for some reason (I don't even play epic ).
