Spoilers for PBEM 4

I'll harvest the other stone once I can get a builder over to it. Divine Spark has been taken already and I still don't have a Pantheon yet. Grabbing a religion is not looking likely but I do need at least some faith generation and this is a better spot than the one at Madrid.

The builder will chop the forest then head to the stone tile at Cordoba. The follow up builder will improve the horse tile then head to Bilbao. Madrid will build a trader then get out a settler for the northern wheat city site. I need to rethink what Bilbao produces after the slinger. Maybe another slinger. Not sure yet.

That's a nice faith bonus for the Holy Site.

Also congratulations on your third city.

Thanks. Pretty sure I was fourth to a third city though. Still, things should even out since my fourth spot is a lot closer.

Finally got a Pantheon and received the boost to Mysticism. Unfortunately, couldn't grab the +1 culture on pastures Pantheon (and I knew Divine Spark was gone already). Oh well. Goddess of the Harvest isn't bad so I'll make do.

I had the gold so no reason to wait.

The timing worked out to get another slinger at Bilbao (which I do need). I'll start the Campus district afterwards (delaying the city walls which I'll still want).
At Madrid, chop out the trader (send to Bilbao) then improve the horse tile. I'll bank the overflow into another builder but switch to a settler once Early Empire is finished. The just completed builder is heading to harvest the stone at Cordoba. Afterwards, improve the wheat then decide what the last charge will be used on.

Third in score. Not terrible but I am behind. However, my cities have produced one scout, two slingers, two settlers, one monument, three builders and one builder purchased. By turn 50, I'll add a trade route (T44?), another slinger (T44), and on T46 the Holy Site at Cordoba. My fourth city should be founded around the T55 mark. Cog wise, I think I'm doing fine.

Place the campus district, make a trade route and get the Eureka for Currency. An important turn for sure.

I'll buy the grass hill forest tile when I can.

Researching Currency makes the most sense right now. I need Sailing but Ponce de Leon has a more important build to complete before I can even think about producing a galley (two actually). Cortes starts a settler next turn. After the settler, finish the builder first then bang out the commerce district.

Finally got around to renaming my cities after famous Spanish explorers. smile

Nice naming scheme! So Cordoba another explorer or just not gotten around to renaming it?

Francisco Hernández de Córdoba is an explorer. That fact allowed me to be lazy and not have to change the city name.  lol

Maritime Industries for when it is needed (and I have a build queue open).

Trade one cog for one food. It does slow down the settler but it is time to start growing Cortes. I'd like Cortes to be size 5 before the settler for my fifth city is completed.

I'll get the boost to State Workforce next turn. I'll finish a civic (haven't decided which one yet) in conjunction with the settler completing. Finishing State Workforce would be ideal since I probably will need to hard research Political Philosophy. I should have produced a galley early, but didn't, and waiting now to meet three city states (for the inspiration) would not be a good choice.

As expected.

Ponce de Leon grows in four turns now. I'll send the builder over to Ponce de Leon. I should have the mercury tile by the time I trudge the builder over there. Cordoba will work another 2f 2culture tile at size two. I want to have Cordoba just grab tiles for now.

Woden built a campus district two turns ago (I think) or has Political Philosophy already (and Mysticism). If he built the district, likely he has Divine Spark (shows +2 per turn). I hate that I know who's doing what (even though I haven't met anyone). Not a fan of the change.

Look at Cordoba go. Somewhat useless city right now but the early culture is welcome and eventually, with a granary and cog tiles to work, the city will be pretty decent.

The score is somewhat deceptive but I am probably middle of the pack (or better?). The empire score is looking good though. It would be a good sign if I am first to a fourth city since my fifth city will wait until after Cortes' commerce district.
