OK, so two questions for this game right now:
1) What is Japper talking about? This sounds completely crazy to me. Pindicator has America's +5 strength bonus on its home continent and Defender of the Faith for another +10 strength in cities within his religion. That's +15 combat strength to the defending American units!
Oh and sure, pindicator doesn't have crossbows NOW, but he certainly will react and upgrade his archers the moment that he sees Japper preparing for an attack. Those "obsolete warriors and archers" can easily be upgraded to swords and crossbows and pindicator seems to be doing fine on gold generation. "Going in early" without help from Alhambram seems like the height of overconfident play to me.
Isn't Japper supposed to be a MP ladder guy? He was crushed in PBEM4 with awful military tactics and seems a bit clueless here about his neighbor. It makes me wonder what the heck goes on in those ladder games.
2) I don't get this either. Pindicator is definitely ahead, but I don't see him as being so far ahead as to be running away with the game. The notion that Alhambram is going to run halfway around the world to attack a non-neighbor seems crazy to me. How would he ever be able to keep any territory conquered given the ridiculous supply lines? Won't Japper just reap all the spoils if they attack pindicator together? I'm struggling to understand this decision.
Why not go attack Jester instead? China's the weakest player by far and that's his other neighbor to the east. Jester hasn't updated his spoiler thread in weeks and seems totally checked out on this game. I think that's a smarter play than trying to hit someone who has the +15 strength defending advantage and isn't even a neighbor. Or am I missing something here?
Japper007 Wrote:As you can see we are not far behind Pindicator, and ahead of Alhambram. I think that once I hit Mercenaries and 4 Xbows (three of which are then double promoted ones right on pindicators border shhh ) I'll be able to take him singlehandedly. A lot of his military score is still tied up in obsolete Warriors and archers, possibly even the scouts he had out earlier. I might just go in earlier without Alhambrams backup, he's free to join in 16 turns if he still wants to of course.
I reserve the right to change my mind if pindicator shows up with Xbows or Knights on the border though...

DoF with Pindicator has run out, so I can do this now:
I sent both same offer to give singal: after 18 turns war! I await for their reaction next turn, hopefully they do, if they don't response next turn, then I start feel uncertain to carry out my plan.
I don't need them accepting offer, if one of them do my plan is exposed. Hopefully they realize what I mean with 18 gold. This is best what I can do with AI diplomacy.

Unless Pindicator horribly misplays it looks like Japper's attack is destined to fail. The best thing for Alhambram to do now is probably jump in on Japper's back side while his military is all engaged with (or destroyed by) Pindicator.
