Those annoying cell phones in public places

I *do* find it strange when people on cell phones walk into a stall in a public restroom, and continue their conversation! huh

Now that is the #1 thing that I can't believe with cell phone users.

I know someone with the instant talk feature of Nextel who answers back siting in the stall...
There is no question where he is, and he has already had someone next to him flush.

They are obnoxious without a phone, but with a phone they're more obnoxious.

Ewww! Who talks in bathrooms?! I don't open my mouth in bathrooms. The risk of mouth-breathing is far too great, and I will not have that wonderfully aromatic "Essence o' Last Week's Stewed Feces" coating my tongue. Bleh!

And who wants to listen in while someone takes a dump? I'd hang up on someone if I heard them -- or anyone else -- taking a crap in the background. *splash splash*

I've seen it most often in airports, presumably because people between planes can only fit in a bathroom trip and a phone call if they do both at once.

Well if nothing else, they ought to have an official with one of those jammers in every third row at this year's Wimbledon. That is one time it really gets my goat. You're at Centre Court, watching an extremely highbrow, prestigious event, knowing that cell phone calls aren't allowed, knowing that any ringing sound will literally stop the match that people all over the world are watching from home because they aren't as fortunate as you, and you still bring a phone? Did these people sleep through the manners course?

But then again, at least that case isn't as dangerous as using a cell phone while driving, or using a flash camera at a gymnastics meet.

Have I ranted here before about taxi drivers who are on the cell phone the whole time they are driving? Does anyone else think that is horrible customer service? Of course there is not much you can do about it at the time, unless you are willing to walk wherever it is you are trying to go.

Enough ranting for now wink If everyone used cell phones in the constrained manner that Griselda does, there wouldn't be a need to rant.

Rude can happen anywhere - I still remember a conversation by a women who used the "F" word in every sentence. She was on a phone - a pay phone.

Nothing will stop rude idiots...
