With Commodore also invading India, I'm going for round 2 on the land. This time my force is accompanied by a bunch of C1+Sh Horse Archers, which make it a lot harder for Miguelito's Axes, many of which are highly promoted and all of which have Shock, to attack my stack. I have an Immortal with Sentry that I'll hopefully use to see when Comm's units arrive so I can move off of the Jungle at the best opportunity. If I get the chance, and Comm takes that city and leaves a lot of his units vulnerable, I'll not hesitate to attack. I can't win against Comm no matter what happens, so if I get the chance to hurt him without risking much I will.

OK, Comm has Samurai now, and made peace with Miguelito. So I will also try and make peace with India. The plan is to get all my units and attack Ruff Hi from the sea, at least taking the island he has, and maybe even more? But probably just the island and hold up there until the end.

Miguelito offered Peace. I took it of course. SD and Ruff are fighting, and it looks like Ruff is taking off units from his island. I'm not going to pass up the opportunity. I'll land on the island with an Axe, 4 Swords, and 3 HAs in 2 turns. I'm also building Triremes so that eventually I might be able to challenge Miguelito's control of the sea when we inevitable go back to war.

I lied, I'm going to check to actually see what he has in that island before invading. I don't want to trash my trade routes for nothing. And to be honest I had kinda expected to already be dying to Commodore by now and have nothing to lose.

OK, I've got pictures now, so that's good. Comm seems to want to prop me up for now, offering me a one-sided luxury trade (well, one-sided unless he has forges everywhere, in which case it's even).
Ruff had just attacked SD, and he only had three units in his island city, so I landed:
Meanwhile Miguelito is looking to spice things up again:
Although I don't know why he'd put that fleet there unless he plans to attack from the sea, and that would be a bad idea, especially since he still doesn't have Iron for Swords (last I checked anyway). Perhaps he plans to land outside my cap? I certainly hope so, I'd be able to kill any stack that turned up there, all of my units are centrally located. He has construction, so with some Cats he could probably take back the island, but it'll take a while to bombard down the walls, and that'll give me time to reinforce it. I'm also starting to build Combat 2 Triremes (Moai + Lighthouse). The extra happy from comm will help in whipping out those.
He only has 3 cities, and a lot of his power is tied up in his navy. I already outclass him on land and I can probably outproduce him on the sea. Maybe as long as Comm stays friendly I might actually be able to conquer India.
edit: forgot to say, I declared war on Miguelito and offered peace, which should force his hand one way or another. I'd like to make him choose before he knows that I'm attacking Ruff.

I only just noticed it, but it looks like Ruff Double moved me last turn:
I haven't checked, but I'm kinda assuming that whip is of the island city...? I sent him a pm, but I'm not sure if I should post in the tech thread until I hear back from him... Any lurkers around to advise?

Yeah that looks like a double move to me. Did you pm him about war dec and the fact you are second in turn order?

I did not, it's not something I'm used to doing automatically, even though I know I should. But as soon as Ruff logged in and saw what happened he should have logged off. He definitely shouldn't have whipped anything.

Especially a suspicious-looking double whip. I am not familiar with the lurker procedures in this situation, would I just ask ruff for info about the situation?

I sent him a PM, no reply yet.
edit: he's currently logged in, so I guess he'll see this when he comes here to report on his turn?
