- City in the North falls for the loss of 1 conquistador
- City in the South too strong - units pull back, waiting for siege support
- Caerroil (France) now showing 18 axes and 2 Musketeers
- Location for my Forbidding Palace selected
- Isk showing 'Rifling (3)' which is the same number of turns that I can do it in - assuming my calculations above resulted in a beaker number that is too high
- Edit: Picked up another Bank from Hans
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Funny things that happened this turn ...
Isk isn't the only one ...
Para forgets about a barbarian mace (city survives) ...

I don't get what's up with Rheims. Personally I'd keep it and its infrastructure and population, build a filler to the west (if physically and strategically possible).
On the other hand, Mich clicking "Donate Unit" instead of "Spy actions" is funny as the buttons are next to each other (I do it all the time in SP)

Hmm - I will take another look at that city. At the moment - no city is using that pig in the South or either of those wines in the North.

I think he meant to give it to me ... he has 1 city left and it will die next turn.

So build a city 444 of Rheims, that gets everything you need! No need to settle on top of a town.
Also, I'm surprised he cottaged the plains, and farmed the floodplains. What?
Edit: 444 is invalid, as it's blocked by another of Caer's cities. So, raze that immature border city and fit 2 cities in there without needing to raze a mature core city.

Say you have a plains and a FP and want to build a farm and a cottage; there are reasons to do it each way.
COTTAGE FP:
* FP will get worked a lot more, cottage is at its best when worked every turn while farms serve their purpose only being worked sometimes.
* FP you want to work early, plains you maybe only add very late in the game when cottages don't have time to pay back their investment compared to farms.
FARM FP:
* By increasing rather than decreasing the disparity between the food counts of your tiles, you have much better control over city growth, particularly if sharing tiles.
* You want to work FP right away even before you have Pottery but after you have Agriculture, and you never have the spare time to switch them around.
* It's more efficient to grow the city ASAP on farms and then add cottages at higher sizes. And it's also obviously better to work FP early and add plains later.
But yeah I'm going with d), he sucks.

This is true, but I've never been confident enough to deliberately do that in most of my cities, due to the added workerturns. Especially on quick speed, where worker moves are more inefficient and worker turns more valuable.

Either you have access to my gmail account and the password for my game or you have gone back over my thread trawling for pictures.

Agreed. Raze Rouen, plant 6. And how the hell did that crazy Dutch-French salient form, and why haven't they gone to war over it?
Also, don't worry about the AP for now, too many votes are concentrated in Caer, meaning the AP victory is invalid. He can try to force you out of war, though only one city is going to take the happy hit.
