Azza, do you think Jkaen has been suspicious since following Lewwyn?

He hasn't done anything to reduce my suspicion of him.

I'm pretty hesitant though Tas. Zak's not awake and it seems pretty low for us to swing to someone when they can't defend themselves. I'd feel better with Jkaen o Azza.

I guess Uberfish is asleep as well.

Btw ... ties are coinflips in this game right?

I agree because we haven't really hit zak with anything yet, so creating a case he hasn't had a chance to defend against makes it hard to really assess whether he is actually scum.

Elected Mayor (Gazglum) has tiebreak powers.

*Pours another splash of whiskey into the tumbler, hand trembling. My others hand fingers the mayoral sash, seeking a comfort that is not there, as I listen to the hollow tick of the clock.*

Ok, it looks like others are asleep or not coming on. So its up to me to break the tie. I know that if I make a mistake tomorrow isn't going to be fun, but I guess that's what I signed up for. The buck stops in this office. Mr Mayor gotta get the business done.

Novice and Ryan, who I trust, have now split one Azza, one Jkaen. Azza and Jkaen are voting each other which makes sense, I would too in their position.

After re-reading during today's chaos, I like Uber more, I like Zak less. I'm not going to vote Zak, not least because the player pushing that wagon is someone who hasnt' even properly read the thread.

But Zak pushed Ryan over Mattimeo, dropped Mattimeo when the neighbours were revealed. It could fit scum. Novice and Uber have both voiced suspicion of him. I'm agreeing that I'm worried about Zak, and as such, I don't like following him onto Jkaen.

I'm switching back to Azza. Azza, it's a meta case, and if this is a mislynch I'm really sorry because that sucks. But in the end, I like the logic of the meta case. Also,

1. If it comes to mislynchs, we lose a lot more from losing Jkaen than from losing you.

2. I doubt Zak now, and he parked on Jkaen.

3. Most importantly, I was the one who really gunned for you today. It's scummy and cowardly to not go through with it now.

Also, I don't know how we'll ever be able to know your alignment otherwise Azza, you're too good at playing things close to your chest. But I see a possible path for catching Jkaen if he's scum.

If we have an alignment seer, maybe he can scan me tonight to prove my innocence. Then, presuming I live, he could claim tomorrow, and I could protect him one more night. If that happened, then I think Jkaen is finished - I don't think we would have a seer and a tracker in a group this small.

It's time to make the call.

*Picks up the phone, breathes heavily a moment, then dials* 'Yes...Yes...Yes, Azza. Drag him from his bed. Yes, in front of his wife and family if necessary. I want that puppet dead by dawn'*

DEADLINE.

After discovering Lewwyn's corpse, Gazglum seized Lewwyn's possessions, 'for the good of the village.' Overnight, Tasunke had stumbled out of the forest. Although he was present, he was still talking to his fairies.

The villagers assembled at Gazglum's house, now informally the mayor's office. Gazglum addressed the crowd. "You know why we're gathered here-"
Novice stood up. "You know why we're gathered here - look, I think I've been hypnotized. Everything I say has to quote someone else."
"Really?"
"Really? Yes, I do."
"Hmm. Anyway, we know why we're here. We all know Jkaen must hang today...." The crowd formed a circle around Jkaen. "...but I think we should discuss other possible candidates. It's too early to take a nap."

Jkaen shifted uneasily. "Well, well, you can't lynch me! I followed Lewwyn to novice's house last night!"
novice glared at Jkaen. "'I followed Lewwyn to novice's house last night' - no shit, Sherlock. Gazglum still has Lewwyn's hypnotism kit."
"Such a coincidence you followed the man who died, and your result could be publicly verified..." said Gazglum.

Then zakalwe took the floor. "What about that puppet?" He pointed at Azza, still struggling to control his arms. "He's obviously possessed by a demon. See the way he struggles?" The crowd looked at Azza twist his arms in jerky movements. They had to admit he seemed possessed.

Azza managed to get his arms to stay still long enough to speak coherently. "I'd take a look at Q-bert. He seemed pretty reluctant to take out Matt, and -AHH!" Azza's hands lunged for his throat.

Qgqqqq noticed that Ryan was struggling, too. Ryan's brow was furrowed, and he seemed to be struggling to keep his arms on the sides of his body. "Hey Ryan, something up?"
Ryan's arms dropped limply against his sides; Azza's hands suddenly released themselves from his throat.
"...any chance the puppetmaster is town?" Ryan sheepishly asked.
Azza stared at Ryan. "You... YOU!" He rushed towards Ryan, but Ryan tensed his muscles again, and Azza stopped dead in his tracks. "I... will... END YOU!"

uberfish approached Ryan. "Can the puppetmaster be village? Sure buddy, sure." He patted Ryan's head. Ryan released his grip, and Azza begrudgingly blended back into the crowd.

"So, since the master is town, that means the puppet is mafia, right? Let's get him!" Gazglum pumped his fists in the air, only to see the crowd's looks of confusion. "Hey, what's the problem?"

"'What's the problem?' That's bullshit reasoning, and you know it," said novice. The villagers nodded in agreement.

"No! God would not have left Azza like this if he were a good man. Since he's in this state, he must be a sinner."

"'That's bullshit reasoning, and you know it.' I still think that's true," said novice.

"But I am a man of the light! Lewwyn's diary proves it!" Gazglum held up the diary he 'reclaimed' from Lewwyn. "'Gazglum has written his last will and testament...' Clearly God is behind me, for inspiring Lewwyn to write this!"

"'Clearly God is behind me-' no, he isn't," said novice.

Gazglum approached novice, then grabbed his shoulders. Gazglum looked straight ahead at novice, tears streaming down his eyes. "I... I prepare to die for you, and this is how you thank me...?" Gazglum let novice go and head towards the corner. novice didn't say a word.

The time slowly passed until sunset. The villagers believed Gazglum, for whatever reason. The villagers were split over whether the sweaty Jkaen of the God-condemned Azza would die. When the appointed time came, Jkaen looked like the chosen one. Azza, Ryan, and Gazglum led Jkaen out of the home. At the last moment, Jkaen looked at Gazglum, his face deflated. "Please..."

"...release him," Gazglum said. Jkaen fled. "Take Azza away."
Azza lunged at Gazglum, but Ryan was too fast. Azza's arms forced themselves over his chest. No one bothered to restrain him, he was already helpless. Azza looked at Gazglum, eyes full of rage.

"...DAMN YOU FOOLS, LETTING THAT SCUM GET AWAY!" Azza's hands shot over his mouth. The company left the house.

The silence was only broken with Azza's last cry. "AND DAMN YOU THESTICK FOR GIVING ME SUCH A BULLSHIT ROLE!" Then a gunshot, then silence again.

Gazglum led the mob to Azza's house. The walls were filled with scratch marks, but no evil spirits could be found. It seemed that Azza was innocent.

Azza, Village Puppet, was lynched Day 2.
It is now Night 2. All PMs are due by April 12, 2000 PDT (April 13th, 0300 GMT)

Oh fuck, only just online.
Still would stay on azza, but really suspicious of gazglum at the moment - what the heck do you mean "last will and testament"???
From what I can tell he wrote something and apparently the gm put it in the writeup - that is a big nono, you don't put stuff in the writeup that mean things (in the bad old days baner saves would go in there which was really bad).

I also hate the way you're pushing the lunch like its only the meta - I mean wtf, its not a meta case, its a bunch of bad tone from posts, various suspicious things (self-vote, lack of scum hinting) and the meta of the puppet concept.

The way you Nell dismissing it as meta feels reeeeal suspicious, like you're reducing your part in the responsibility for a mislynch, and weaken the case against him.

Tasunke, please read the thread.

I agree with novice that we've likely no seer at this point.
