Sit back, wait for the world to engulf in war (and hope you aren't in it), then dogpile on the winning side and coast to second place as #1 vassal. Silver Medal!!

[SPOILERS] Churchill of Portugal: Gallipoli Part II
|
Not a bad plan. If only these big states would fight. They all seem satisfied to eat the little people and leave each other alone for the most part.
Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon (June 3rd, 2013, 10:34)MindyMcCready Wrote:(May 31st, 2013, 22:47)spacetyrantxenu Wrote: Kobayashi Maru? I'm guess I'm still going for the time victory...the stay alive time victory. I still like it better when it's Shatner sitting there. But, sadly, this is your only chance. Good luck!
So lurkers, anyone takers for subbing this weekend, probably just Saturday and Sunday. It should be no more than two turns really. Pindicator usually plays after I do and I like to play in the last half of the turn in case someone invades me, but whatever works for whoever subs is OK.
I can provide a more specific plan by the time I'll be out but the general plan for now is to finish this current round of infrastructure builds (particularly the bank in One Fish if at all possible) and then swap into theocracy whenever I finish researching Theology soon. I've just begun saving for that tech this turn so it will be a few turns before that happens. Leaving instructions aside, why tech Theology at all? Xenu, you suck, that's an awful choice, you say? Well what else can I research soon that will help me? Anything that is really useful is going to take a very, very long time to research. In the meantime I'm in constant unit building mode (the current infra builds notwithstanding) so if I can get 2 promos on every unit out the gate I say why not? Is it worth eating a turn of anarchy? Possibly not, but if I'm not going to be dumping hammers into buildings anymore (and why would I if I want to survive?), I don't need to pay for the OR bonus. So Theology --> tech something really expensive for the next 20 turns. That about summarizes the tech plan. More details later, possibly including showing Blue Fish as it is about to hit equilibrium and max production. Aren't you tingling with excitement? NO? Well damn it alll, I tried.... I can do it for you Space, I should have nothing to do this weekend.

Excellent. I'll send you the password and I'll post more specific instructions here in the next few days.

BaII PM'd me saying he realized he was spoiled for this game, but I imagine anyone posting here would be. I guess I'll post in the general forum unless someone else would want to step in.
I don't think being globally spoiled is a huge problem, unless as a player there's something I'm missing here. I'm not asking for anyone to design a plan for me using spoiler knowledge. It's mostly going to be shuffling tiles, managing city builds, and keeping an eye out for invaders (keep scouting Zulu land, keep the boats cycling around looking for people up to no good). And honestly it doesn't really matter that much what happens in my empire -- as long as we don't allow cheap, unearned city captures there isn't a lot that can happen here that would be terribly unbalancing anyway. When Serdoa or Plako attack, whenever that is, I expect to only be able to hold at Blue Fish, Red Fish, and One Fish anyway, and that probably wouldn't last for too long. The worst thing I can do to this game is hold the turn at this point. Volunteers? Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
I would suggest posting in the tech thread asking if people are ok with it first
There could potentially some problems with possible knowledge of invasion plans, or lack thereof as either way could be slightly game-altering(I'm not confirming nor denying that anyone plans to invade you here)
Oh come on, everyone who borders me wants to kill me if the price isn't too high. But all that aside, if my instructions are build this, move these guys around here, swap these tiles to grow sooner, etc., that's hardly stuff that can be changed by the sub's knowledge that Scooter may send 15 knights at me (I think they're on defense duty against Commodore but what do I know?) or that Plako's privateer sentry is waiting for a good time to signal the rest of the armada to appear, or that Serdoa's stack of mounted/winged doom horses are ready to ride in....
Anyway. Due diligence. I'll do it. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon |
