Are you planning to make a sandbox? I would very highly recommend it. Helps so much in figuring out early micro when you can just try out different paths.

I am not a micro player unless i have something specific im going for. If i start microing any game i start to become very very bored of it. That being said in the past my dedlurkers have made sandbox's and i seem to find errors in their micro along the way, but as far as actually making and doing the micro myself? Id really rather slam my head into a pencil. Basic plan of action is shit out settlers, dont lose cities to random attacks, shit out more settlers if possible, and then hold tight.

In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."-Old Harry. Ended up sandboxing this start and its basically rather straight forward. Fishing-workboat swap tiles to hammer, and then when border pops swap tiles to PH so that both the workboat and fishing finish at the same time. Net fish, start worker and Agriculture. Basically, we end up with 2 or 3t ( i thought i wrote down what turn the worker was outta work... ) where the worker is idle before bronze working comes in. It can techincally put in a turn or two into a farm on the plains riverside, but... yeah.
After that its a gamble between the other 50 players with mysticism whether they go for a capital religion or not. According to my rough sandbox, we could get hindu t33, with our first settler popping t34. And then swap to slavery while its moving. We could also swap to bronze before that and 2pop whip the settler, and maybe hope that we get Hindu in that city by holding the tech back till it settles? Currently thinking of settling near the floodplains. ![]() In game, everything was placeholder... logging back in to swap that all around because man... going worker first with Agriculture-mining-bw gives us a staggering amount of worker turns that do Nothing. ![]() The end of my sandbox. I briefly tried the Worker-agriculture start.... and yeah, not optimal. Any objections to Fishing-workboat start With tech going Fishing-agriculture-mining-BW? Workboat-worker-warrior/workboat?

Nice! Plan sounds good.
We'll have some time to scout before making a choice on when to pop religion. 2nd city might not need an early border pop. (September 1st, 2020, 16:29)Elkad Wrote: I see it running ...
