Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

civ 6 "little league" game?

I'm game, been getting back into civ 6 lately anyway...

I'm open to a Civ6 game, but would favour playing with BBG. If we're stuck with Civ6 for foreseeable future, might as well start trying out balance mods

I would be game. It seems to be the mod of the biggest community out there anyway.

BBG didn't change how upgrades work, so you are still going to need resource hiding ban if you play on Normal speed and therefore a banned list. And with that you get banned list:

Gives too much stuff:
-You can only pillage a city-state hex once; expect farms and fishing boats.
-Resource hiding ban. We would need more complex rules for a team game, but it is obviously intentional here.
-Giant's Causeway

Other:
-Tactical DoWs, especially regarding Australia. Not needed anymore with BBG Australia nerf
-DoF blockades OKAY
-Scouts providing naval support OKAY
-Not accepting/rejecting DoF at once.
-Bermuda Triangle (it's a one-way ticket so it messes up the map. The guys on the "right" side have unfair advantage).
-Maori (messes up map generation, BBG uses a special map script so this doesn't happen. But if we don't the civ has to be banned).

Game Setup:
-City-gifting must be approved by the wise council of lurkers.
-The player who proposed the DoF cannot declare war on the first turn after the DoF expires, unless the player who accepted the DoF is ahead of them in turn order. (not nearly OP as the other stuff but not having this rule gives Player1 an edge for no reason)
-Desyncs are likely if people aren't using the same version. But reloading (with same version) and saving seems to work...A rule might be needed if you get stuck. Woden did get stuck but he didn't try to fix the problem as he was losing anyway.

Lets try BBG, I wanted to join that community anyway sometime soon.

We just need 1-3 more players.

The BBG is balanced for Online speed, correct?

I think so, since it's mostly designed for synchronous games, and they typically use online speed. Finding out how well it works on slower speeds would be part of the game (I assume we won't want online speed for a PBEM)

I could be willing to join. Are we still going with the idea of using 'weak' civs?

If we're going BBG, what constitutes a weak civ changes completely. Eleanor f.e. is seen as one of the strongest BBG leaders.. crazyeye

Yeah I think with BBG we could either go full random or full snake pick with everything allowed (except Maori if MJW says it causes issues). We don't know what's weak there
