Prague founded, and it instantly connects to give me 2 trade routes. Cash for 13 turns of 100% science.

Pottery is in and my southern worker starts building my first cottage.
2nd worker due next turn in Aachen, planned to start another cottage.

Founding Prague, revealed another floodplains in the BFC south of that mountain range. Good to know, but a pain to defend.

Writing next.

I will probably not found my 3rd city to grab the copper but go SE to the pigs place and secure me my corner of the map.

A new city 4S 1E of Prague. That is close!

Looks like I will have to fight with Saladin (athlete) for my 3rd floodplains.

I hope I can get a couple of settlers to the central pig area before him.

Your worker would have a while to walk to cottage the 3rd FP! Let Sally do it then steal it culturally! :neenernee

How are you planning to play the close border relations with Saladin?

Still haven't found sooooo.
Saladin agreed to Open Borders and I stepped my warrior into his undefended second city (Median). Unfortunately we don't seem to get international trade routes yet. Probably need Sailing for it.

I desperately need my religion to spread to Prague, but it won't happen. Arrrggh. Don't want to build a monument there. Probably have to get a Lib going soon.

One warrior is positioned between my two cities, as barbs start to emerge. Since I have Archery now, I will get a couple of them out of Aachen, I guess.
The early turns, so much to do, so much to do.
Settler will finish next turn and head south. I am still torn between putting it between Prague and Medina (on the plain hill next to that lake) to block off Saladin or take a risk and grab the pigs and hope to fill in the gap later.

As you can see Priesthood is in next turn. After that I go for Monarchy to get the wines hooked up. I also have a trade in place with sooooo (although we haven't met yet, but that does not seem to concern us here with ruff posting 5way trades in the main forum already.) for Alphabet vs. Monarchy.

I might be ablt to play one more turn tomorrow morning if the game finds it's way to me.
Otherwise, the game is on halt for one week. Perfect time to settle the patch, I believe.

Long due update:

Third city founded to seal up my corner of the world.
I decided against settling that city further SE to not temp fate.
I have a total of three units for my three cities with one scout running around Dreylins lands.

Monarchy will take one turn longer as I have to dial down research to 80%.

I have a deal set up to trade Monarchy to soooooo for Alphabet. We will also trade Meditation & Priesthood for Fishing & AH before.

Unfortunately my communication with athelete (Saladin) is not what it should be, so it seems we are both researching Monarchy an he has deals aligned with Dreylin and Ruff.

Despite my trade route between Aachen and Prague the religion refused to spread to Prague. I had to build a monument to pop it's borders in 3 turns to finally grab the stones and a hills tile. That was annoying. I was counting on an early religion spread. The third city is also on a monument to get the 2nd ring soon, as it holds the pigs tile.

The pace at which the wonders fall is scary, especially as there are no industrious civs.

Shows, that I am just not that good at the game.

Nice blocking city. It would be a key to your area so i think, you will need to keep it well garissoned. On flat land it could be a problem though.

BTW I am from Prague and our country is one of the most "atheistic" in the Europe, so I will never rely on free religion spread to the city of Prague smile

Good luck thumbsup
