Shoot the Moon Wrote:We should probably decide what we are calling Pacific Time. Whatever it is, I'm the same GMT as SilentConfusion. When do you prefer to play SilentConfusion? Unless you can only play quite early in the evening, I might prefer to play first. Right now I can usually play from about 5 p.m. on, but by the end of August I'll be at college, so I should be able to play sometime during the afternoon then.

I'm flexible with times, so if you prefer to go first, Shoot the Moon, then that's fine with me. I'm out of college now, so no more late night homework. smile

By the way, do we want any rules regarding city gifting or unit gifting? I'd propose no building HE or other buildings that require a certain level unit until you have a unit of said level yourself. I'd also propose no temporary gifting of cities.

Even if we didn't have that rule in place, I wouldn't do it as I consider it cheap. No need to cheapen my eventual victory (or complete and glorious failure) with doing something even somewhat questionable. I know that I will play in a way that I consider fair, and I don't really care how the others choose to play. If someone wanted to do something like unit gifting for HE purposes, I wouldn't cry foul. In my opinion I'd just as soon let everyone play the way they feel they should, and therefore we wouldn't need a rule like this. With all of that said, I would support this rule if we want to have it in place.

Unit gifting doesn't really need to be restricted. The only reason to restrict it is to prevent HE unit gifting, which doesn't really matter a huge deal and so I don't really mind what happens. City gifting can be a bit more exploitive, so I second no temporary city gifting.

I'm still thinking about my civ/leader choice though, but I'll try and choose ASAP.

I'd like to think we can just go through the game in good enough spirit without having to make rules about cheesy city gifting or what not. But I'd say we just say no temp city gifting and leave the rest alone. Lets not get bogged down in rules here, I think we are all just looking to have a good time

my playing time is (in local, pacific time), from 3pm to 9pm. the 9pm is kind of a hard cutoff since my work hours mean i have to go to sleep pretty early. ideal time is probably around 4-5pm but i'm relatively flexible within that 3-9pm band smile

i'd prefer to ban city gifting and HE-level unit gifting.

my email by the way is meatbalz.civ (at) googlemail.com

I'm in Pacific time, but I can play later than meatbalz and Shoot the Moon also showed an interest to play a bit earlier, so I'll take the later turn out of the three of us.

And my email is silentconfusion.civ @ gmail.com

Ok, it seems meatbalz should probably go before me in the turn order then. Does meatbalz --> Shoot the Moon --> Silent Confusion work for all the Pacific folks?
