Rego dislikes our turn pace. I had this message with the email
Quote:Only 2 turns today? Unacceptable!!!!! :-D
Obviously tongue-in-cheek; the pace has been light-speed. We may be getting a bit spoiled; anything less than 3 turns a day feels like we're going too slow!
So on to the actual turn...

Turn 33
I farmed the last flood plains with both my workers. My original micro had it set up so that John Garner would be chopping this turn, but that was before I realized I'd be dealing with -2gpt cost. If I would have started 1SE... well, that was 33 turns ago, let's not dwell on the past. Point is, I had to reevaluate my worker plan and while this doesn't look as elegant, I felt the best thing to do would be to get the farm done a turn earlier. Next turn he goes back up to the forest plains hill to chop+mine. Losing a turn on that action won't hurt where the hammers go to, so I feel okay about the waste. Just okay.
Bronze Working finished at end of turn. Where be the copper at?
One to the south - it would be really cool if that was a 1-tile island - and one far to the west. Changes where I will settle that island's city; obviously we want to go on the hill instead of on the grassland. I wonder if there are any other surprises like that for when iron comes in.
You can see my work boat has hit a dead-end. At this point I need to start hoping the map can't be circumnavigated until optics, or that the other players are meeting similar obstacles in their work boats.
A couple of score changes: Rego whipped his 2nd city from pop 3 to pop 2. Apparently he's gleaned my thread, and since he doesn't want to be dogpiled for being top pop, he's whipping it away. Or he whipped a ??? in his second town. Um, what makes sense. Granary doesn't fit; he's had that town up for 11 turns, he's already built the granary. It's been only 4 turns since the town grew, so he could have thrown a chop + 4 turns at size 3 production, that seems about right. That's my guess. Oh it could be a slew of other things, too. Anyway, he lost a pop for it.
Yuris also researched a tech. Here's guessing it's Mining. After rego lost 1000 soldier points, someone else gained 2000. So if this is Yuris, then that means Yuris was also the person who built the mystery warrior/galley. You know, that 2k point increase came 2 turns before his 3rd city went down. So he probably has a galley roaming about.
Religious techs have to start falling soon. Nobody has gone for them early; in fact, everybody seems to be investing heavy in worker techs. Nobody has built any wonders yet either. I wonder what the record is in a pbem for turns passed before the first wonder or religion is won. We're at 33.
Well, I'm going to start heading down that path. Priesthood has to wait until after Pottery - obviously I want to turn the Oracle into Metal Casting if I can nab it. But I'm going to meander towards Stonehenge as well. I say meander because if it falls in the next 4 or 5 turns then I'll change my tech to Wheel-> Pottery and not miss a beat. But stone + industrious means Stonehenge costs less than a galley to build. It'd be low-hanging fruit.
So the plan now is...
T34 Revolt to slavery
T35 Slider to 0%, research to Mysticism
T38 Mysticism finishes EOT
T39 Masonry
T41 Masonry finishes EOT; also found city #3 on top of the stone
T42 One-turn Stonehenge
