Someone picked up the Monotheism religion, which doesn't surprise me. It's looking like I'm going to be locked out of religions all game long, so that's going to mean Monarchy has to be more of a priority so I can get the garrison happiness to make up for it. Culture I'm not so worried about, since I'm not going to have any border disputes with anybody and I get 30 hammer barracks anyway. I'm definitely going to be missing Organized Religion too, since I'm actually in good shape on hammers and I could leverage that with OR.

Somebody built Stonehenge before Oracle went up, other than that nobody's grabbed anything.

Turns out I do have an actual relevant neighbor, so I won't just get to sit and play SimCity until cavalry. Good. I wonder what kept him from scouting in my direction.

Well, that answers the question of what kept him from scouting towards me. Might be a candidate for open borders, or maybe I should think about landing two galleys of praetorians over there. Elkad hasn't adjusted his espionage, which tells me he's found at least one other neighbor and either hasn't noticed we made contact or doesn't care too much about graphs.

I'm in a woeful spot overall right now, but I'm surprisingly close to Krill's performance so I feel good about that. The library he built is going to start pushing him ahead, especially with the great scientist I expect I'll be mentioning he got in about 15 turns, but I don't think he's plausibly very far ahead of me on granaries or the lighthouses I had to build just to try to keep up on crop yield. All I can do is keep expanding and pushing ahead.

Great Lighthouse went this turn, so I collected my failgold, like I planned on. I wouldn't have been able to beat whoever built it even if I'd started building it as soon as I had it available, which tells me that the race for Colossus is probably already lost with no access to Organized Religion.

Elkad offered me a fish for fish trade, which I accepted. I don't know if there's some kind of etiquette here for that, but I'm interpreting it as an AI Diplo "let's be good neighbors" request.

A few turns ago Elkad landed a scout, then I wandered my scout over from fogbusting detail and spotted a worker, and now he's planning to settle here. I wonder if he just has a very small home island or if he's trying to muscle in on me here. I'm almost done researching Currency and planned on getting Iron Working next anyway, even if we've made a fish for fish deal I don't think it'll work out very well for him if he tries to go very far past my coast here.

Outside of that, I'm up to 6 cities now, just settled an island city for the internal ICTRs. I have room for at least one more close island city that I'm going to be taking as soon as I can. Also, I managed to lose both my starting workers like 30 turns ago to a panther that I thought was a wolf because I didn't zoom in closely on it, so that slowed things down on top of already running slow because of my low food start.
