Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Civac and the Last Pitboss

Ah yeah it would be like that almost since we’re kinda of giving away what we are doing. For other naming schemes I’m honestly fine with whatever. Normally I would do something related to the other games I play like Valorant or SC. But idk how appealing that is to u. What kind of scheme would appeal to u?

If we’re not roading the copper right away is the worker next to the fish city going to stay around in the area then? I think 3-4 warriors from the capital before we connect copper would be nice. Enough for the current 3 cities and an extra as a spotter would be nice so we can meet everyone else for EP spending and just tech bonuses

I have set up the micro so that we do have the mine on the copper but no road. So we can connect it quickly and also profit from the copper mine without losing the ability to make warriors.

I wouldn't mind an SC naming scheme.  coffee What would be the capital? Korhal? Flash's CC?

If we’re doing SC I was thinking of naming the cities after pros but locations might be better. We can do Korhal or Tarsonis as the capital

Player names is probably easier. Hm.

There's not too many cities I counted from when I looked over the WB save file maybe like 10-12 cities per peninsula and I can't imagine conquering more than 1 Peninsula without being in a so I think we'll top out around 25~ cities. Obviously pro players are definitely easier to do especially when we get to higher numbers since there has been a lot of even BW players over it's long years. I have a preference for pro players just because I like paying homage to them but totally cool to do like planet/location names since it makes more thematic sense.

For the copper how long were u thinking about keeping it disconnected? I was thinking if we settle the horse city next we'd actually be okay until we start settling border cities since WC's beat other chariots + axes we'd be pretty safe from wondering chariots. The only thing threatening would be wondering spears or a small stack of them but given how slow moving they are I think we can very safely get out axes in time and we wouldn't need that many. The Impi's would be concerning but given we don't border them we should okay.

The real issue is that we don't have that many cities left to settle until we start getting near the end of the peninsula, maybe like 2-3ish cities but once we start pushing up against borders I definitly do not feel safe without some metal units. Still that's roughly 20~ turns of delaying the copper unless we see a spike in the power graphs and having a handful of warriors for MP and sentries seems really helpful

I didn't want to delay for quite that long. Mostly to finish the current warriors.

We settled cities #4 and #5 over the previous two turns.

Three workers are improving the rice and pig for the new cities, as well as the elephant as we are running into happiness issues. Costs are quite painful already at 13 gpt.

Where would you want to settle the cities in the middle of the map?

We probably should be careful not to piss off SD in the east too much. However, xist to the west plays an even more wimpy peacer combo than we do. So we can push there a bit.

I was thinking we could settle closer to the marble and even though we'd be settling on flat land since it's across the river it's still not the worst defense spot. I don't think we need to push much further than that and besides the best land doesn't seem to be so much in the peninsula but rather in the middle with the jungle.

If there was someone we fight whales + marble over it should be Xist so we don't really need to for either aggressively. If SD wants to claim the marble here then so be it. As long as we have 1 copy of whales I'm not complaining.

The lime green dot for the fish I was debating about moving it up 1N. Just so we have more production for the fish city with an extra hill and it being so far away from the front line it should still be okay even without the hill bonus. Since if we can get that red dot spot we force SD to 1SE of the marble although we might have to change if he settles directly 1S of the marble.

That was my initial take on the settling we can be doing in the center. Just overall very defensive locations on hills seems like the best bet. All of this is liable for change though if we get spots invalidated... I don't mind losing marble to SD but it would obnoxious to miss both, so maybe prioritize settling towards Xist? Don't really want to get into a culture war with a CRE civ at this point and I think that marble is probably the most likely spot we'd lose.

Starting with renaming the cities according to our naming scheme we have Last.

In the early days of post-Kespa Broodwar he was the second best terran player and many thought he would become one of the greats. He won the inaugural season of KSL, stomping Jaedong 4:0 in the final, and also took home ASL season 7. Alas, it was not to be. He was vanquished for good by the nemesis of Broodwar terrans, RSI.

It's not that easy to find many games of that era. But you can watch him dismantle Mini in the ASL 7 finals. The TvP meta of that time is surprisingly odd considering it's not that long ago.

Oh that's a fun player to pick. I haven't watched as much of the earlier ASL seasons having picking it back up around season 12 or so. Will definitly need to watch those TvP's when I get the chance.

I took a look at our position today and I just noticed Xist is extremely far behind for some reason. I see their food dropping and their power dropping so are they at war with someone? I didn't see a war dec in the event logs so did they lose something to barbs? But that doesn't explain such a large drop?

Regardless it looks like the plan then is to settle towards SD then loop back around towards Xist atleast that's what I gathered from the way you're posturing in game. After Writing though is the plan to head towards Math? Seems like there are a ton of forests to chop to speed things up. Only other option I can think of that make sense are Monarchy for wines + HR or IW so we can settle center and chop through the jungle. But that seems like a post Math option.

I was thinking with Xist so far behind already we might want to settle very defensively in the center to make it easier to attack him later. If we can sweep up a lot of his territory with HA's it might be even better than settling more of the center even though the land in the peninsula is a lot weaker. The only issue is that his other neighbor is Shaka of Zulu.... So we could concede more spoils to them and try and get a bigger slice of the middle towards them and just wait to outscale their set up. Still a bit of ways away though but some food for thought.

Also if your too busy to report nws I can always check ingame to see the state of things and if you want me to do some of the city names let me know or if you want to pick the names I can do a quick write up of the player as well.
