Not a big fan of spies here. It always only gets me 1-2 backwards techs. Good job with the two early wonders though.

I got an email from Dreylin (Mehmed II). I'm going to put some signs in-game so that I can remember who is who.

Sorry to be confusingly un-monikered in-game! I'm a bit rushed today;
all my games seem to have descended on me this morning and I didn't
have a lot of time for thought whilst trying to get the turns through!

I have met two other tribes, both of whom are located past my borders
to the West. I take it you have come from the Northeast to reach my
lands, and the other tribe is further North? Should we be neighbours,
I hope that we can coexist peacefully through this early phase of
expansion.

It seems that you have the PAL position, nicely placed in the center and (to some degree) able to control the contact between the tribes. As you can see from the relationship screen, the Civ I have met has not met you (you can probably work out who that is). He is currently scouting towards my territory so you might have to find him, instead of the other way around.

I have 2 scouts out, 1 you have met, the other you might see shortly. My plan is to send them both past you to explore further afield. Do you have any suggestions re routing?

Checked F4 in game and Dreylin has met Sooooo. Does that mean he has met everyone? So, he just met Sooooo this turn?

Started Great Wall, set city to max growth, second chop. Started grasshill mine, wheel in 2.

Sent Dreylin an updated email saying that he knows Sooooo. Guess I am just adding to the confusion of who knows who at the moment.

I'd thought about Syp bombs as an interest tactic for a demogame: seeing as you won't need to invest much into tech, and you'll have sight into the target civ's cities, you'll be able to run a larger army to deter any retaliation. Seeing as you'd be cultivating a long-term enemy, you better not become the number 1 civ too soon!

Hi Ruff,

I must have met him this turn (for a full set). Reading between the
lines of your comments - this one especially: "he is currently
scouting towards my territory so you might have to find him" - I
gather I was wrong that Sooooo is the Northernmost of the Eastern
tribes and that you have the defensible spot in the NE...?

For directions, you have three choices from my Capital: WSW through
the Jungle to the South of Banana Lake, WNW across the hills and North
of Banana Lake, or NNW up the Central Valley through the Gap of Rohan
to the Great Ocean. The people you seek lie West of Banana Lake and in
the far NW respectively, though an emissary of one was recently
spotted heading into the Central Valley. I hope these directions are
of use.

As for the PAL position, are you saying my two neighbours are
incompetent and Wonder-happy!? 9-)

And what is a Banana Lake? And 'Gap of Rohan to the Great Ocean". I guess the finder can name the locations.

Thanks for the directions. I guess I will just have to sense which lake is the 'Banana Lake'. If / when you come East, watch out for the Peaks of Sorrow and the Long River.

My PAL quip was obviously aimed at your central location and not the non-existent playing abilities of the two peoples to your West!

Notice I totally don't bite on the 'wonder hog' comment that he directed at me. Also, that there aren't any landmarks with those names as described, but if we are going to start the race to name things - I better get in on the action.

BTW: I haven't named any of my units. So, this is your chance to interact with the game. Feel free to suggest suitable names (cities too). Who wouldn't want to see an Axeman named 'Sullla' or 'T-Hawk' scale walls and capture cities?

Hi There. It seems we have both met Dreylin. I am sending scouts West (after discussion with Dreylin) to find the other two. I must say that I was a bit surprised that you scouted towards me, instead of seeking contact with the other civs. No biggie either way.

BTW: I saw Dreylin with a settler out already, so expect him to found a city in a turn or two.

I'm reading and enjoying these ... and I have some ideas for names:

I'd say the Peaks of Sorrow have got to be the southern mountain range that takes tiles away from red and green dots on your dotmap and borders blue dot's BFC as well - especially as your ill-fated scout was eaten by a lion right by its south-western-most spur. Long River could then be the one that starts by the horses and winds around the north and west edges of the Peaks of Sorrow to end in a little lake.

(Delhi could be called "Backwater" or "Mystery River" for its river that runs both into the mountains and into the sea. Alternatively, "Placer's Folly" or "Angels Fear" if you still think you should have moved NW onto the incense.)

How about some names from the Demogame? PAL the HA? Kelben the worker, Aidun the Scout, Herc the....whatever
